I haven't, gotta put it back on for track days.Originally posted by: OS
What did you fill the holes with?Originally posted by: TuffGuy
Not hard. It just has 4 bolts (2 on each side). The double side tape is pretty strong, so you need a friend to lift the spoiler as you're flossing through the tape. It leaves holes, but they're not bad. Not as bad as an STi though. It has 16 rivets, and the only way to take off the spoiler is to swap it with a WRX trunk.Originally posted by: OS
how difficult is it to take off the wing? Does it leave holes that need to be filled/painted?
IMO the wing is the biggest problem with the car. Did you finance and what's the current deals?
I financed part of it. There are no specials on the Evo or STi or GTI or A3 or 335i, and the best rate that I could find was 5.99% from Capital One.

Are you really going to bring a car you're making payments on to the track? Don't get into an accident. If you do though, post the pictures here.

Nice car! Those things are wicked fast with superior handling and braking.
Every bit as fast as the M3, maybe even a bit faster for half the cost.

It took me a long time to decided between the two.
What year is yours?

They're even to 100. Edge goes to whoever hits on the gas first.
I was actually quite surprised, as the M3 has the power advantage (333 vs 286) and less drivetrain loss (RWD vs AWD).
Very nice... Rou have the good looking one. Three things pushed me away from the STi: the new front end, the inability to remove the spoiler, and the blue interior. Loved the engine and the way it sounds.Originally posted by: thirdeye
It's a tough call between the 2 they are both very capable cars.
It's an 05. I'm currently @ 333whp/358 lb-ft tq![]()
It's a 5-speed. Less shifting around town, slightly better mpg, and stronger gears to handle the extra power.Originally posted by: fbrdphreak
So is this the 5-speed or 6-speed? 0-60 4.4s is amazing for a 2.0L turbo, but I'd imagine that's with the 5-speed. I'm sure its fast as hell and traction is great with AWD, but the specs don't impress IMO. ~3300lbs, 286Hp, eh. That torque is nice for a 2.0L turbo tho!
Maybe. Either way, I was quite impressed.Originally posted by: OS
M3 the power advantage on paper, the evo may be conservatively rated.
Nah, it makes for a pretty sweet shelf!:laugh:Originally posted by: sygyzy
That must suck to buy a brand new car and have to remove parts so you don't attract the wrong type of attention.

Yeah, those are the ones that I was also considering. They're not in the same league, they're just cars that I like. The 335i is the one that I was waiting for, but I wasn't impressed. Sweet car, but there's no driving feel or excitement. GTI/A3 have DSG and the easily chippable 2.0T.Originally posted by: sygyzy

Question - Earlier you listed all the cars that didn't offer financing. Were those the ones you were considering? I am confused. For example, how is the A3 in the same league as the 335i?

sweet car. before it was a toss-up between the Evo and the STI, but the new fugly STI makes Evo a hands down winner. I just wish they'd made the interior a little better

Nah, not anymore. The e30 is the last "driver's" BMW. They've shifted towards luxury. Not as removed from the road as a Benz though.Originally posted by: Aharami

Ive never driven either to form my own opinion...but I thought BMWs are the holy grail of "driving feel"
