So I bought a magic mouse...

It's actually not that bad.

I have a 13" MBP that I'm hauling around for work right now. The trackpad is awesome, but there are still some things that are a little easier to do with a mouse, so I went out and got one.

I have a very small and thin laptop "briefcase" which is just big enough to fit the laptop, some papers, and some pens/pencils. I thus wanted something small and light for a mouse, but didn't want one of those ultra-small porta-mice. Wireless was a must again for size. The magic mouse fits into the little cell phone pocket in the briefcase nicely - something no regular sized mouse would do.

It's not the most comfortable mouse to use, but I am getting used to it, and find I still use the trackpad for a few things. The touch surface on the mouse is nice, but also takes some getting used to. I'll probably like the mouse more when I get all the swiping gestures figured out.

I don't know if I'd use it for a regular desktop mouse, but for a portable travel mouse, it's actually pretty good.

I generally like it, with the exception that when I'm holding the mouse sometimes part of the palm of my hand hits the touch surface occasionally, and the mouse interprets that as a signal to scroll. It can get quite annoying...

Get Better Touch Tool and implement custom gestures.

I have found I like
1 finger - scroll
2 finger - page up/down back/forward
3 finger - Spaces

I just can't handle the tracking. I can't seem to get it to respond the way I'd expect it to, which my Logitech G5 does no problem.

I just remembered something I REALLY miss from linux... highlight to copy and middle click to paste. There's nothing like it in OSX unfortunately. I have 2 finger tap set to copy and 2 finger click set to paste and it's alright, but still not quite as seamless.
