So I bought a cake from Wal-Mart....

I got it for work, wanted to bring something in.
Anyway, I came home, found out the cake had a slice missing.....Looks like its been cut it out rather than snagged out. Can't find the recipt - can't return the cake now( I haven't tried to return it. I figured I'd look like an idiot trying to return a cake with a slice missing and no recipt). I can't believe I'd end up with a cake from a store with a slice missing. Makes me want to reconsider shopping there again. Going to call and tell them what happened though so they can at least check into it.

Anyway, now for the fun part.

What do you think happened to the cake?!

Post your opinions...

EDIT: I should add that I'm in the middle of no where. We only have wal-mart and a few no name shops here. Basically when wal-mart came, many shops closed down. So I don't exactly have much of a choice when shopping for anything in this town. 😛

It came from Walmart... PWNED..

Seriously, don't buy groceries from that company. I'm a right-winger libertarian and all that.. but Walmart seriously shouldn't be allowed to sell groceries, imo. All they do is reduce food quality across the board by prompting reputable grocery stores such as Albertsons and Publix into selling cheap bakery sh!t, vegetables too ripe for consumption, milk with 2 days until expiration, etc..

I'm starting to hate Walmart more and more. It pisses me off that no company can survive without supplying to Walmart and submitting to a price-beating. Ya, Walmart has low prices - but at what other costs to the consumer?

What do you expect when you buy a cake from Wal-Mart? 😛 Go to a local bakery, or at least a grocery outlet with decent pastries (Haggen, Safeway, etc).

costco ftw

i don't even know where the nearest walmart here is...

I'm sure Costco would've let you return the cake with the piece missing and sans receipt. 🙂

At the store I was at, a few customers would come in at night and just start eating the produce and leave the pits or seeds on the floor. Could have been a customer or an employee. Quite a few people didn't show much respect for the store, on either side of the cash flow.

I got a birthday cake from Wal-mart, and the blue icing turned my poop green for two days.

What kind of friends/parents/whatever gives someone a cake from walmart on their birthday? That sounds like you're being punished or something.

costo would have let you return the cake completely eaten sans receipt, and smiled the whole time.

What kind of cake? If it's one of those round creme cakes, they come in frozen. When they thaw, the cake tends to tear open, making it look like a slice has been taken out.

I haven't bought anything from Walmart in over 2 years, due to their labor and buying practices. I'm lucky enough to live near an urban center and have choices. I don't choose Walmart.

PS

Dingo ate your cake slice.
