Sweet! Hey, I am a mechanical designer and I can provide you with models to print! What file format can you print and what is the size limit that you need to stay within (length, width, height)? Want me to make you something unique, like a pyramid with a ball inside it? I duno, let me know and i'll do it for fun and for free.

A legitimate rape whistle could come in handy.

Lawl.

wait, leapfrog as in the teach kids English/math Leapfrog?

No, these guys are dutch.

a sign that reads "Yes, ATOT, I printed this on my 3D printer"

:hmm:

Order the plastic filament from Amazon. (It'll probably be a lot cheaper there that from the manufacturer of the printer. Just make sure you get the right diameter.) Then print an adapter so that the new spools will fit the printer's spoolholder, if it has any. 😛

Yup, got a spool of black and a spool of white coming from Amazon. My machine just has a tray I think.

.STL files. 230x270x200 mm. I do mechanical design as well, but if you come up with something cool, I'll give it a go. Maybe something suitably ATOT-ish.

Machine gets here in a week or two. We'll see what trouble I can get into.

And no. I am not printing sex toys... perverts.

There's a little mall nearby.
I was thinking a guy could put one in there beside the claw game etc.
I could see people sliding their card through and printing out an army man worth of plastic for 10 bucks
The fun just watching it work should last for about a year anyways

"Tea, Earl Grey. Hot."

"print sasha Grey.. Hot!"

when we can print in Carbon fiber at home we will officially be in the future. If one could do a honey comb one could literally print a lambo. Now mats would cost more than a new car but what about 100 years from now when we figure out how to make something CF like for peanuts.

Really though we live in exiting times. If design and execution become cheap we could see an explosion of innovation back into the hands of the people and not the mega corps.

thumbs up op!

make one of these and call it the ATOT

It's fairly expensive to 'print' things isn't it?

One of our local community center/library locations has one - hellifino why. They will create little plastic dolphins for local school children who visit - I think my son said it was $3 for a one inch model and $10 for a two inch model. He also said they didn't make any money on it but he's 9 so I can't validate the veracity of that.
