Would that be the correct type of ram because i have read around that the board is really selective about what kind of Ram it will take?

I also read that have to manually set the voltage of the ram to 2.2 is this also true?

All your choices look good to me, minus the Case and power supply.

For power supply, I would suggest looking into a better brand. Suggestions: Silverstone, Seasonic, and Enermax

For cases, The cooler master Centurion 5XX and 5 series are perfect for you in that price range.

I was also wondering how i could get the price of that computer i know the obvious way would be to downgrade in my graphics card what would be pretty good until i could save up for a dx 10 card when i finnally get vista

I would go with a 965P based motherboard. SLI is a waste IMO. You could go with the Gigabyte S3/DS3 and an E4300 and OC those. That should let you keep the 8800. Then again if you're not getting Vista for a while then its probably not worth it to get a DX10 card right now.

If you decide on a dx-9 gpu, I think this will be your best buy. Just a heads up, the MIR is only available for purchases through 03/01/2007.

However, I would recommend the gts because of it's dx10 support, and the g80 architecture does offer the best image quality on the market right now.
