So i am at autozone last night..

I was picking up an airfilter..and I tell you they got some knuckleheads working the register.....

I was behind this guy and he tries to pay with his debit card....about a minute later the cashier says it didnt go through..the guys like what the heck...tries agains...min goes by nope didnt go through...so he goes ok takes out a credit card...min later the cashier is like no sorry didnt go through...

i am thinking to myself this is odd...finally the guy just gives up and leaves...

my turn..the cashier scans the filter...i swipe my debit card....min later sorry didnt go through ...it finally dawns on me to ask him 'is your system down?'

he is like yeap..WTF..why didnt u tell me or that other guy....he shrugs..'dunno'.....ARRRGGGG!!!!

i could have sworn i was on candid camera

It was a fair sequence of events, the system could have been down or not still. First time could have been a pin error or user error. Second time down, but, sometimes debit fails and CC works fine, so, was worth the 3rd shot. Then you don't get 3turns cuz you just saw what happened. Annoying,but, not uncommon in my experience.

I got the impression from him that the system was down...he just didnt feel liek tellign the next customer for who knows what reason..i suspect it was actually timign out because it took along time b4 hed say no sorry didnt go through...

personally ..i dont think he gave a flying fig..and decided to not inform the customer that the system was down for electronic debits or CCs

The last time I was at Autozone they wanted to sell me a PCV Valve for my Benz, I was getting a wiper blade and air filter. I said to him "if you have one and can show me where it goes I'll buy it." He couldn't do either.

BTW, it does have one but mounts under the intake in the block.
