So I have a ridiculously easy albeit time-consuming database class. The final project is right out of the textbook, and is due today, and I don't have time to finish it. It looks like the books publisher offers instructor downloads on their site; my guess is that among the downloads are completed assignments.

The site says that they must confirm that you're a teacher in order to get you a login.

What kind of "proof" would they require? Could I say that I do private lessons and get a login?

I'm running out of time here; I have 2 hours in which to do about 7 hours of work.

I screwed up I know, so now I'm just looking for the easy way out :p

You are getting close to running out of time and your access to our forums, too. You may NOT use our forums to attempt to cheat at your school.

I've got a staff login to Course.com... except I haven't used it in *a very long time*, but I have no idea what my username, etc., is any more.

All of the materials I saw on Course.com did *not* include answers to projects. I've not looked at your specific book of course, but I have looked at many books.

That a shame, I had imagined that since they protected the staff sections that there would've been assignments there.

It's just an Access database book. I do this crap for a living which is why I kept putting it off, then when I got around to doing it last night I was surprised to see the amount of work involved; none of it difficult, but all very time consuming.

Here's a true story...

A student at a local university bought the teacher's edition of a textbook from the publisher by claiming to be an instructor. The vendor contacted the dean's office for confirmation (which they don't tell you they will do) which blew the deal.

Not only did they kick the guy out of school, they put what he did on his transcript. If he tries to transfer his credits, the new school will know exactly what he did. So he can either try to transfer his credits knowing the new school will be told what he did, or he can keep his story secret by starting over somewhere else.

My good friend is an associate prof there and the student was in one of his classes.

There are plenty of assignments, just no answers to the assignments in the book ;)

How the heck did the publisher know what university to contact? I've ordered teacher's editions before, and they've never questioned my authenticity...

Apparently when they get an order from a new customer that includes teacher's materials, they verify with the university that the order is legit. When the student placed the order he had to provide some proof that he was a uni instructor, and whatever he provided tied him to the university.

It was for an MBA program if that makes any difference.

I'd say the country is doomed for many more reasons than the people like me.

What would be amusing is if you managed to do this, then the instructor ran Windiff or used an Eyeball Mark 1 to see that you'd plagiarized the textbook solution. Hilarity would ensue.

Why not use one of the other weasel tactics like inventing a family emergency?

No answers there. It's not like I don't know how to do it, it's just that I don't have the time for it.

The lack of the project isn't going to kill my grade; I'm currently sitting on a 106% in the class, but depending on how much partial credit I get, it could drop it to a low A or high B.

Oh well, you win some you lose some I guess.

You can pull sh1t like that in school and proably get away with it but do you know what happens when you pull sh1t like that in the work world? You get FIRED.
