So how riled up are your neighbors tonight?

I broke the cardinal rule of living in Mississippi, I got an apartment north of I-10 (Map), which is the 99.8% of the state that you all know and mock. As such, I am surrounded by rednecks. Beer cans and garbage bags on the stoop, kids throwing firecrackers at each other, broken down cars in the parking lot, you know, the things that the south gets made fun of for.

Well, tonight they are riled up about something. Maybe they're trying to hunt down Santa so they can make reindeer jerky, maybe there's a Klan meeting tonight. I'm not sure. But they are going nuts outside.

What are your neighbors up to?

Sleeping. I could turn the music up loud and wake them up if you like? I?m sure that?ll get them riled up, as it?s 01:25 Christmas Day morning.

BTW the reason I?m up this late, is because I intend to catch Santa in action. If I don?t fall asleep too soon, I?ll try and catch him whilst he's coming through my letterbox, and take a pic for you lot ;)

He?s real I tell you!

I'm a boring asshole. Want to trade?

I mean when you try to have the slightest bit of fun, they will complain. For instance, last New Year's Eve we were all up until 12:30 a.m. celebrating and they came knocking on the door telling us to be quiet. Come on now, can we have an extra 30 minutes after the New Year's?

Good luck with that.Santa Claus moves at relativistic speeds. I wonder what kind of shutter speed you would need to capture that bastard.

Quietly sitting at home throwing garbage into their wood stoves stinking up the neighborhood.

Mostly sleeping I believe, which is why I'm setting up some amplified speakers so I can wake em all up to the tune of Flight of the Valkyries. And then I'm going to play an air raid sirens. It'll freak them the @#%# out!

I live in a moderately sized apartment complex in Lansing. Everything's pretty much quiet. Not as quiet as usual. Concrete floors and thick walls pretty much exclude all sounds.

If you think the coastal area of Mississippi is bad, you would love living closer to interior of the state. :p

You can easily mistake my neighborhood for a graveyard. At all hours of the day actually.

Well, I love the coast. I'm from there. However I learned long ago that once you cross I-10, you enter into another state. I used to live about 30 miles north of I-10 when I was a kid (In the late 80s/early 90s) and it was like living in the 1930s.

I also lived in Oxford when I went to Ole Miss, which I hated.

Unfortunately my job is at Stennis Space Center and it may move to Slidell, LA, so I had to get an apartment that was acceptably close to both. Hence Picayune, the only "city" in the area... North of I-10...
