Not sure if I would call what I did 'hiking' but I've been on the Appalachian Trail many times in North GA. Excellent scenary.

I would love to do part of it ... have read extensively on it etc. The Pacific Rim Trail, or the Great Divide Trail would be brilliant too. I've done some backpacking in Australia too, the longest being the Overland Track in Tasmania at around 75 km. Good stuff.

When your own BO knocks you out, it is time to wash it off.

I've only camped/hiked a few times in my life, but the thing I've remembered most is the BO/not showering. Lots of hot, sweaty, grimy people who just hiked 3 days with no showers in an enclosed space = :shocked:

We've hiked about 1% of the AT and hope to do more, ideally we'd thru-hike the whole thing one day but that's probably an unachieveable fantasy. The section we did is around Bear Mountain in NY.
