So how many of you eBayers wait for someone to leave you feedback before you leave them feedback?

I've looked at some feedback of "Power Sellers" and I see so many times where they wait for feedback to be left. When they get neutral or negative, they reliate with their own neutral or negative feedback. Doesn't seem like eBay is preventing anything like this from happening.

I left bad feedback on a seller for bad descibtion on a replacement notebook lcd. He said was in perfect condition and it had 3 big white marks on the screen. Could only be seen if the desktop was black. Almost a month later he left me bad feedback for non payment. Funny part is, it was a local computer store. I payed for it and picked it up at the stores local location. Asked for the feedback to be fixed and he sent me a thing to do a mutal withdrawl of negative feedbacks.... I declined.

If I sell, I usually wait until feedback is received. If I buy, I always leave feedback first. The seller should wait to see if the buyer has any questions/stupid complaints about things that were posted in the listing, etc.

I used to think that way too, but nowadays there are just too many scammers on ebay who will use every bit of advantage to get leverage over you. Threatening with negative feedback is one way for them to do so.

So now as a seller I wait till the buyer lets me know the item(s) have arrived ok and in good condition.

Sometimes. I always wait until the transaction is completely finished, however.

If I am a buyer, I leave feedback first. If I am the seller I will always wait for the buyer's feedback before I leave mine. Some buyers are extremely stupid and get pissed at tiny things. They might also damage the item and blame it on the seller. Also some items can be DOA or damaged even if it is NIB.
Yes, I probably will retaliate with a negative if I am given a neutral/neg rating.
For example: Someone bought a LCD from me. I listed all the specs on my listing. The buyer received the LCD and left me my first neutral rating stating NO DVI etc... It was clearly his fault for not reading the listing as no where did it say DVI. (ctrl + f. Type DVI).
Well I left that negative for him saying he was a dumb buyer and I clearly described the item etc.
There are also buyers who purchase the item and say another listing (3 days left so it hasn't ended) has a much LOWER price. Please give me a better deal. HOW DUMB CAN THEY BE? The listing hasn't ended yet so obviously the price isn't going to be that high.
Anyways eBay buyers can be extremely stupid so never ever leave feedback first unless you are the buyer.

Depends on the situation and if I anticipate that the buyer/seller is a dink or not. Generally however I leave feedback after the other person has ful-fulled their part of the bargain.
