I've "only" had 4 this year:

Abit BE6 w/Cel 566@850 - was perfectly happy with it till I fried the cpu (dont ask)

MSI K7T Pro w/Duron 600. Was able to get it dirt cheap on a Sunday afternoon after frying previous chip, was only down 3 hours.

Abit KT7 non raid. Switched to it when I realized I had a unlocked Duron. Is only stable at 800 though.

MSI K7T Pro 2A is my current board. I was perfectly happy with the Abit, switched for the hell of it.

tekram ex celeron 466@525
tekram bx celeron 466@583
tekram via 133 celeron 466@583, p3-550e@733
2 msi 6309s p3-500e@733, and 550e@808
msi k7pro athlon 500@700, athlon 700@1000
2 msi 6191 athlon 700@1000
asus k7m-rm tbird 700@1000
gigabyte ga-7zm (this one has been for last 6 months, i totally got bored with the hardware scene, so i dont really do this anymore) tbird 800@800

those are in order too.

I had a whole one so far. The Asus K7M, has been very stable for me with an athlon 600. Seeing no need to upgrade yet as it is plenty fast for me.

Schola

Abit BP6(3 of them)
Abit VT6X4(3 of them)
Abit KT7-Raid(6 of them)
Epox 8KTA
Epox 8KTA+
Asus A7V
Asus CUV4X

A whole bunch more that I put in systems I built...

PC chip for k6-2 ( as soon i find out about pcchip i sold it to friend)
Aopen Ax6bc rock solid sold to sister
asus K7V current setup rock solid

Tyan Trinity S1598C2-Excellent. Very stable.
Asus K7M-Horrible! I will never buy Asus again!
Abit KA7-Very good. No problems.
MSI K7T Pro-Too soon to tell, but so far excellent.

Asus K7M Athlon @ 650 - Current setup, been dandy except for problems with Kingston memory recently bought (switched w/ Micron from other system today, seems to work fine) - and Diamond Viper V770 Ultra - sold.

Maybe an Microstar K7T Pro2-A and Duron if I can get a decent amount of cash for my previous setup..although the Classic Athlon setups don't seem to be selling very well right now...*shrug* with 1 GHz at $200, and quality motherboards at $120, I'm not sure that I would bother saving the $ to go with a slower machine.

Abit BM6(sold to get a slot 1 mb)
Abit BF6(given away as present(excuse to buy new one))
Asus P3V4x(put into aunt's work system)
Soyo 6VCA(bought for testing purposes)
SOyo 7VCA(bought for testing purposes)
MSI 815Pro(bought for testing purpose)

Played around with numerous other mb's thoughout the year, too. Those used for testing purposes were usually sold to relatives at discount, put into extra systems, etc.

Current mb is a CUSL2.

Abit BE6 2 rev1 (my first clockable board)
FIC CW33 (810e for second system, got it for free)
MSI 815E Pro (worked on gf's, hated it)
Abit SA6R (current board)

LOL! You guys change boards too much! I've had one board since last December (Gigabyte 7IX), and then I only got it because I got one of the AMD reseller deals... 🙂 Next board switch probably won't be for a few years, I'm perfectly happy with this Athlon 650... 🙂

abit BE6 p!!! 500@515 lol
abit KA7 athlon 700@850
abit KT7 tbird 750@900, 800@950

soon gonna be :
MSI K7T Pro2-A tbird 750@1133

i have to break my abit tradition.....

2 Abit BE6-II

Bought one for me and one for the wife in January. Upgraded from 366@550 celerons to 700 P3's a couple months ago, no need to change the MB. My only gripe is that the Abit MB's seem very picky about slotkets. I found the Iwill slotket II to be working great after trial and error.

Abit BP-6
Asus P3V4X
Asus CUV4X
Asus CUSL-2
MSI 815e PRO
a BX board, of some sort (from a Dell PC)
an 810 board, of some sort (the cheapest I could find)

Intel AL440LX (or something)... oh dear!
Gigabyte 7IXE...works well unless you fiddle with FSB.
Asus K7M... didn't work when I tried it so sent it back.
Abit BE6... only fully tried it when blowout guarantee expired. Think it has a fvcked floppy controller. Board has good features but I wonder at their QC.

Asus P2B-F
Asus P3V4X
Asus CUSL2
Asus K7M on an HP
MicroStar MS-6163
MicroStar K7T Pro/Pro2A
MicroStar 815E Pro
Some Intel 810E and 815E board on Dells and Microns.

hmm, sorry, only 2 this year.

soyotek sy-d6iba2 (still have in my current rig)
mobo that i ripped outta my friend's computer and gave to my sister, belonged to an ibm aptiva.

Just three:

1. Intel FJ440ZX. In my old computer, complete with lame integrated graphics and sound. I gave the system box to my mom, who is very pleased with it!
2. Abit KT7-RAID. Anand's review rated it highly and I was seduced by the ATA100 support. Unfortunately it was a heap of junk and kept crashing. So now I have a spare motherboard...
3. MSI K7T Pro 2. Awesome. Need I say more? No crashes, likes all my hardware (and software). Easy to overclock (currently running TB 800 @ 884).

i've done builds for sale on quite a few, everything from Soyos to Gigabytes and Tyans, and everything in between. For my own personal systems, so far this year i was running on 5 different boards. The one constant has been a celery 500 on an Abit VA-6 that i use as a secondary system for light duty stuff (when my main box is in use) or for trying out software packages, testing component compatibility, etc. or other stuff i don't want to risk doing on my main rig.

For my other main system, so far this year, i've been on:

1. BE6-II with a P3/550, traded that for
2. Gigabyte GA-71X and Classic Athlon 700 ). I didn't care for that board/cpu combo all that much, sold it a couple weeks later and just used the celeron system. when the socketed AMD chips came out, i thought the time was right and started over again fresh with a:
3. K7T Pro (original) and duron 600. That combo has been a champ, although it did cut down opportunities for overclocking and tweaking. Just yesterday, i got my upgrade to the
4. K7T Pro2A in the mail, and threw the unlocked t-bird 700@900 that i bought from Compuwiz on there.

Soyo 6BA+ IV - got it to work, but it locked too much for my taste
Abit BE6-2 - Replaced the Soyo, works great
Abit BE6 - Server motherboard, works great...

Asus P3B-F x2 - put both into my wifes system, and my fathers.
Asus P3V4X - Put into my brothers computer
Asus A7V - Put into my Aunts system, and Was the easiest, most stable install I've ever done, never get calls from her about her computer, and she is computer illiterate...

My motherboards in the future won't be Abit, at the end of last year, I had my Abit BH6 and a BE6 die on me, and thier return policies are unreasonable... It is nice that they are putting RAID right on the motherboards, hopefully we will see this become a standard among the manufacturers. Asus is becoming my manufacturer of choice, but I will keep an open opinion for future upgrages... I will soon need a Thunderbird board to go with 1.2G processor...

Only two this year Abit LM6,now MSI K7T PRO,I like to get good mileage out of my boards.

🙂
