My wife just bought me the HD-DVD XBOX 360 player for Christmas. I had to install it because I had to "test" it out to make sure it works 🙂
DAMN the clarity is insane! I watched King Kong just admiring the fine details that I didn't notice on the regular DVD or in the movie theatre.

plus, BD sounds like VD.

'come back to my place, i've got BD'
'eww gross no way creep!'

Could you please then put words in your mouth? What else did you intend by that post? By the way, my favorite lap cat died today, so yes, I am sad today. But you couldn't have known that when you posted.

You own a cat? That explains everything!!!

My gf just got me the HD DVD drive for my xbox for xmas. Alll I can say is "WOW". Time to add some HD-DVDs to my blockbuster queue.

I don't care. I'm almost with Dullard on this. Since the days of 8-track, I've always let the market decide first and then buy. I've only had a DVD player in the house for about 2 years. Once there was a standard compatibility, low prices, and greater selection of DVD media, I finally made the switch from VHS. So, once one format wins out, pricing comes down and availability goes up, I'll switch to HD something. Probably in about 5 years from the way things look now.

Blu-Ray has the highest IQ/potential IQ in its camp, so Sony or no Sony, i'm in with that i'm afraid...

Probably just pickup a PS3 later in the year, then i can pickup a PS3, a few controllers, and the best few driving games and enjoy Blu-Ray and some nice games to play with mates before the pub/after the pub (and i'm sure there are some games the missus will love too..)

Besides which, i don't fall into the 'hate something just because it's Sony' camp 😉

Blu-ray is the better format from what I have read. It is destined to lose however since it is attached to the sony name. Oh well.

It would be if the technology could cash the cheques that Sony's mouth was writing.

We get it already, you hate Sony...😉

plus, the HD DVD name is self explanatory for the masses as opposed to bluray which doesnt even sound like dvd related. that alone is huge advantage Need to have that word HD in there.

you know what u just did OP, u started another Sony VS M.S fanboy war! this thread is going nowhere!
