Tuna in the cans is cooked? I have been eating tuna my whole life and never knew this? How come it smells like "raw fish" if it's cooked?

I mean, fish like flounder, broiled in the oven smells fishy, but not like tuna in the can, KWIM?

Fresh or not, your urine would smell just as bad.

I just add mayo and lemon juice with salt and paper to taste. Served over toasts. It'd only take 3 minutes.

Yeah, it's cooked. I mean, it doesen't say so on the can, but it is.. you can tell.. If it weren't cooked, it would probably tell you..

I think everything thats put into a can is pasturized...

I make it in a tuna casserole. I like it because you can't mess it up even if you get the amounts off. It still comes out alright.:p

Tuna Casserole

Ingredients:
1 (7-oz.) pkg. macaroni
1 cup milk
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1 can condensed cream of mushroom soup
1 can tuna
1 tablespoon onion powder
1 tablespoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
crushed potato chips

Directions:
1. Heat oven to 350°F. Cook macaroni as directed on package. Drain; return to saucepan.
2. Add all remaining ingredients except potato chips; stir to combine. Pour mixture into a 2-quart casserole. Sprinkle with potato chips.
3. Bake at 350°F. for 25 to 35 minutes or until thoroughly heated.

I like it raw. Oh baby I like it raaaaaaaaw. :D

Or fresh steaks marinated in wasabi, sriachi, and soy done up on the grill, still red in the middle.

Or, after I catch a bluefin, cutting it up on the deck and eating it while the fish is still twitching. :D :D :D

I won't eat that glorified canned catfood crap, though.

I started reading this thread last night and have been craving a tuna salad sandwich ever since. So I'm eating one right now as I write this!

Tuna-mayo-relish-pepper, topped with cheese and lettuce.

Yum. Soundin' good guys.

I like the apple idea.. It sounds good for some reason.

I suppose I should chime in, eh? ;)

I actually like to use both mayonaise and miracle whip.. lots of black pepper, some salt..

Depending on what I feel like, I'll add a tad of mustard, some garlic, dill pickles, and a bit of sweet relish.. sometimes some onions/celery, if its convienent...

Sometimes I'll toast the bread, and then broil-melt some cheese ontop the tuna.. sometimes I'll just nuke the whole sandwitch, to make it warm..

Yep...nothing like eating it fresh from the source. ;)

Or a some nice tuna taco, but if there's any of the red sauce I'm stayin away for few days, it should be cleaned up by then.
