So how do I develop an accent?

My aunt moved to Australia a few decades ago, and now speaks fluent Ausie.

I imagine there are specialized acting coaches that can train you to speak with a different accent. Look at Hugh Laurie for example. He is not American natively, but you'd never know by watching him on TV.

On a side note one of my clients at work has a combination Arkansas/Polish accent. Strangest accent I've ever heard...

Keep in mind OP, having an accent will not make you interesting. You'll still be just as boring except with a different accent.
