So how do cell minutes work in this scenario ?

No Lifer
Nighttime minutes officially begin at 9pm. I place a call at 8:50pm and hang up at 9:10pm. Is this 20 minutes of daytime minutes or 10 daytime / 10 nighttime, according to my provider ?

(no, I'm not going to call and find out)... curious though.

does that work the other way around? if you call during offpeak and you're still talking when it rolls over to daytime minutes?

It does for Cingular. I have unlimited nights and weekends. I'm tempted to plug my phone into the charger and call my gf at 5:30AM and just leave it off the hook for a few days 😉

The same (at least for mine), the determining factor is when the call started.

If it started in peak hours, the entire call is peak. If it started in off-peak, the entire call is off-peak.
