Yahoo! search while looking for information on the then-new IBM 6x86MX/Cyrix MII PR 166. Checked the main site about once a month until I got to college when I discovered the forums. Its been downhill since then.

Hmmmm....<squeezes brain>....it was during the UBB days, just lurking. IIRC, I heard about the Great Hitachi Monitor Pricing Mistake (think it was a 751, or 753) over on CPU Central. There was a link to AT.

I think I remember now. I was trying to sell some components at TheTechZone.com forums, which doesnt really have many readers. My friend introduced me to anandtech forums(ive known the site but I didnt know about the forums) and the for sale/trade forum had TONS of people at it! It was awesome...sold my stuff the first day ;)

I read about it in many a newsgroup throughout 1998. I started lurking around these parts when tring to find some info on the K6-3, and seem to remember Anand getting to test one before they were out. I acutally joined in December of 1999, but never posted, just lurked! I also lurked over at AGN for a while. I signed up there too, and I think I never posted! Having been 'online' since 1988 (Dialing up to the local BBS's w/my Mac Plus & 2400baud Modem), I should've been quicker to catch on! ;)

My first post came in the form of a price check in September 2000. I couldn't remember what user name I chose, so I decided to sign up again with the same user name I have for everything!

I came here because of a link on Anandtech for hotdeals... So after about 3 weeks of trolling in hotdeals and spending about $3000, I checked in Offtopic one night and Goldenbear and Goldenguppy were arguing about scrabble, there was all sorts of drama about dennifloss and some girl he made up, and nateholtrop had some big guy throwing bricks through his windows...

I thought this was all very entertaining so I joined.. and then everyone I talked to got banned

A friend sent me a link to a article here a few years back and I bookmarked it, then I made the tragic mistake of clicking on Community one day. Big Mistake!!!

I came across this site by reading about in Computer Power User Magazine, and then after checking out a friend also told me about this site.

I was searching for hot deals and either it was Sharky extreme or firingsquad mentioned the hot deals forum on AT. So I checked that out and went there exclusively for several months. Then I became kinda broke so I wandered to ATOT and have been here ever since.

I was working on a public hospital (during the Y2K) and I had time to spare, so I asked my big brother for some links of interesting sites that he had available. I've been a regular reader of AnandTech since then.

I joined the forums l8t last year when I got my cable internet connection

I was at a Star Wars site and we were talking about over clocking our PSc and one of the guys there told me about AT. I have forgot his name though but I would imagine he is still here.
