so..how did the universe start ? BB ?

ok,
because we had this discussion today at work. Of course, one guy is very religious and brought the old argument that "BB" (BigBang) must be proof for "God" since BB happened out of nothing.....so "what was before nothing ?" and he argued "God" 🙂

BUT - LETS NOT MAKE THAT A RELIGIOUS THREAD !!! ITS POINTLESS !

I did not argue with the religious guy because it annoys me...and i dont want to argue with "Science" "versus" belief. Thsi doesnt make sense. However - we should recognize that science (or the current status of "what we know") is nothing more than a belief-system either....from that point of view the religious guy definetly had a right to bring his points.

NOW TO THE SCIENCE:

a) is there a (scientific) paradoxon in the assumption there was ONE BB ?
Eg: Creation of matter out of nothing ??I would say yes ?!

I can tell you my thoughts:

The BB theory seems widely known and accepted....however the few (?) people fail to see that the thought of a BB could also imply that the Big Bangs happen again, and again, and again.
The fact that the universe expands, leading to the "knowledge" everything once started at one point (eg: BB) does NOT exclude a theory that "this" universe is only ONE universe in a range of many. (Infinite ??)

In other words: My theory is that big bangs happen (and always happened) ever since. There was no FIRST big bang and therefore also no paradoxon of NOTHING ----> matter gets created.

A universe is born in a (a 🙂 ) Big Bang....it is made of matter, and while the universe is dieing, more and more of the matter gets transferred to anti-matter.

Basically a simultaneos anti-matter universe is CREATED *by* the deduction of matter of the matter universe. These two powers (matter universe, anti-matter universe) balance each other OUT. No energy *IS* created nor destroyed....no "external" power is needed..which would be in compliance with elemental physics. Eg: energy paradoxon, no energy from nothing..which is not possible. (IMHO 🙂

There is a theory that all/most galaxies contain black holes in the centre, which, in my opinion are the ways where the matter gets "sucked" in to be spit out "on the other side"....eg. in the "anti-matter" universe where it is part of the birth/growing process of the "other" universe, Maybe the matter of the "other" universe gets spit out in pulsars.
I dont know.

Cliff notes:
- There was not only ONE big-bang, there are infinite numbers.
- matter is transformed into anti-matter (hypothetical anti-matter universe) and vice versa.
- matter and anti-matter universe balance/feed each other.
- matter and anti-matter equals ZERO - process of creating Big Bangs over and over does not violate the laws of physics.

Thats my OWN theory based on what i know because i cannot accept ONE BB, its just bizarre and abstruse - until someone proofs me that

a) BB means only ONE BB is possible
b) anti-matter is fiction
c) black holes/pulsars are fiction.

The only thing which needed some more explanation is the driving force which keeps the universes going/expanding and "suck each other up"...

"Now this, at last-
bone from my bones,
flesh from my flesh!-
this shall be called woman,
for from man was this taken."

The bible is so erotic!

You still haven't explained the first one, regardless of how many there were/are/going to be.

But then belief in god(s) doesn't explain how they came to exist out of nothing either -- saying "they always existed" or "our minds can't comprehend" is ducking the issue.

Perhaps time is looped around itself and the universe(s) created themselves after they already existed 🙂

If I didn't have a presentation to do at work tommorow, I would bust out my AstroPhysics mindset and post a 2-3 page reply to this thread. I will have to do it tommorow.

Someone remind me if I forget.

Many races believe that it was created by some sort of god, though the Jatravartid people of Viltvodle V believe that the entire universe was in fact sneezed out of the nose of a being called the Great Green Arkleseizure.

The Jatravartids, who live in perpetual fear of the time they call The Coming of The Great White Handkerchief, are small blue creatures with more than 50 arms each, who are therefore unique in being the only race in history to have invented the aerosol deodorant before the wheel.

However, the Great Green Arkleseizure theory is not widely accepted outside Viltvodle V and so, the universe being the puzzling place it is, other explanations are constantly being sought.

This always leads back to one question: Who created god?

And then we start stacking turtles.

This debate is an exercise in futility.

We've got to be careful though, because if we ever know both the ultimate answer and the ultimate question at the same time, the universe as we know it will disappear and be replaced with something even more inexplicable. 🙂

Aliens....that has to be it....wormholes are real, aren't they?

Seriously...so let me see if I understand..according to the BB, matter can turn into anti-matter? How, without defying physics? Matter cannot be created or destroyed....Wormholes have to be the answer....aliens that exist in nothingness created it....Actually, I'm a Christian, therefore I would argue God created it, but then again, this isn't a religion thread.....

Do we have any SG fans here?

So it goes: Big Bang, Big Crunch, Big Bang, Big Crunch, Big Bang........ to infinity?

Lol, just wanted to say big "crunch"
