So how are late model Saabs (say '99)

I've been looking around for a new (used) car lately, I had a friend with a saab and was impressed with the car. Looking around I've seen a handful of 93's and the occasional 95 for under 15k. Is the high repair and maintanence costs on these cars all it's cracked up to be or....?

Also anyone have any other suggestions for decent used cars in the sub 15k market? I'm looking for anything to a sedan to a sportwagon, keeping all my options open at the moment.

go drive a nissan maxima, preferably a 5spd.

make sure you have the auto climate control too....that feature is worth it. If you are looking at automatics, look at GLE maximas, they are all loaded with options, but they are all automatics.

otherwise, get an older BMW if you are buying a car to have fun in

Umm..you can't compare a Saab to a Maxima...Saabs are more prestigous and classy. God I love the seats in those Saabs...and that styling...mmm...

I asked my school principal once about his Saab 900 and he said that you have to be best friends with your mechanic if you wanna own a Saab.

Take that as you will.

Stay away. My wife was the manager of SAAB's customer service center and I can't begin to tell you how often she bitched about the problems people had. She said about 80% of the problems were with the electrical systems.
