So how about that football

I don't think any NFC East team should be in the playoffs. If you go under .500 you are eliminated from the playoffs and the next highest seed takes your place.

As a Football Team partisan, I totally agree, and as manly above responded, such a rule would have deprived us of Marshawn Lynch being Marshawn Lynch...so we can just make that a rule exclusive to the NFC East, because it really is, generally, the garbagiest conference on average, so it's fair.

Come on bro, I really want to be able to savor your Football Team (tm) getting trounced in 2 weeks. Please don't suggest depriving us of that. 😉

The only two playoff teams with a losing record in a non-strike-shortened season went on to win their first game.

Goodness, the table is reverse, indeed...Bills is good and Pats is bad...used to be the other way for years.

lol, Belichick gets on the phone and takes the head off of whatever coordinator told him to challenge that catch, immediately after he threw it, lol. Never seen that dude so out of sorts in a game. like, he knew it was a bad call (to challenge) just as soon as he threw the flag, and was suddenly angry at listening to someone tell him to do it. hahahaha.

Yeah that was kinda funny.

And I thought Diggs was going to take a shot on that last catch. But nope just a little bump to help him get to the endzone

Was that Newton's last appearance ever as a starter for the Patriots?
Dont really know what happened to Newton. He is not that old to be so terrible. His running is still good, but passing accuracy is terrible. He has always been known as a runner, but I thought his passing was very good as well back in the day when he was MVP.

So the Bills as a team is for real? Will they make to the SB and win it all? I am pondering that and thinking all the way back of the 0-3 choke back in the 90's. Yes, I understand this is not the same team but still.

Will they able to break the curse of the buffalo?

0-4 choke

4 consecutive Superbowl appearances, all quarterbacked by Jim Kelly

Holly smoke. You are right. I thought it was just 3 losses but I look it up and it was 0-4 and 4 years in a row (91-94). Wow.

I remember the first one because Norwood was just a bit off on his FG and another one with Bebe vs. Leon Lett.

I have this weird delight in seeing Buffalo not succeed. So I hope the AFC punches them out in the gut.

But Allen is indeed playing at a high level now.

Also, Cam will be a chump as long as he clings to veganism.

If he's still vegan. He's probably feeling "starved" these days.

Sounds like he's a true believer.

I would like them to finally win the big one. Allen is playing well, but lets see how he does under the pressure of the playoffs.

His career passer rating is 86. By modern standards, that is very average. He kinda lucked into the MVP; it was a strong campaign and the outlier of all his seasons but most importantly the Panthers were 15-1 that season. That alone usually gets a good QB the MVP award.

I'm not saying anyone was robbed of the award, but several QBs (including Newton) had a credible claim that season:

Of course for a LONG time it was the NFC West and before that (prior to new divisions) it was the NFC Central.

This argument isn't new and it won't work now any more then it would have when I first heard it 25+ years ago. There's no fair way to penalize a team for winning their division the way the league is set up.

i want one of the 6-10 east conference teams to make it to the superbowl just for the underdog factor

This year I have a feeling we're looking at a "Super-bore" blowout with the weak-sister teams in the NFC.

The best two NFC teams IMO are the Packers and the Saints but I can't see either of them having the D to even slow down the Bills, the Chiefs or even the Ravens. (assuming Baltimore makes it in)

Pittsburgh or the Titans sneaking in could be an interesting match-up but I just don't see it happening.

I think the Saints could win...if they weren't owing the league a severe penance for something(probably Bountygate). Refs will make sure they only have that one a decade ago. I think the refs will call a ton of holds at a critical moment to end Brees' farewell tour.

I would place my bets on Tom Brady making it to the dance again....especially if Walt Coleman IV is with him on the field.

a team that started 11-0 isnt getting in?!

You misunderstood ... I was referring to Baltimore maybe missing the playoffs although with the Browns loss yesterday they have a much better chance.

And yes "sneaking in" would apply to the Steelers/Titans making it past the Bills and/or the Chiefs to win the AFC.
