Fourteen different levels and multiple locations provide fast action fighting, with power-ups of pork rinds, whiskey, and beer aplenty. The rustic, quirky charm of the deep, DEEP South comes to life in hilarious detail in Redneck Rampage with rich 640x480 graphics and guarandamnteed authentic redneck dialogue. A real kick-ass soundtrack features Mojo Nixon (UFO's, Big Rigs and Bar-B-Que), and special tunes from The Reverend Horton Heat.

I have bought twice from them. Got both packages. Even had one shipped priority and it didnt show up on time. 2 times I called. One was to hopefully change my first order but they shipped it in less then 12 hours and I was too late. Last time was the late package and in both times I got a service person that was very kind and helpfull. They even called the post office to complain that my priority package took longer then 3 days. They even called me back to tell me what the post office said to them. The next day I got my package all packed very well and in a timly manner. I probably wouldnt do priority again since both media mail and priority took 4 days to get me so I can save $2 BUT in any case I got more then they described (actual real cases on some-no paper sleve), very friendly customer service, and I have absolutly no problems buying from them again and again.

Cliff note:
Ordered 2 times
talked to them on the phone twice very friendly and when told they will call me back they actually did within 10 minutes.
Got more then what was described as paper sleve and no manual. 2 CD'S came in real cases with real manuals not photo copied.
Over all for $5 a cd I cant complain at all with how I was treated.

The real deal just no boxes.

Has anyone tried to, ya know, register the serials provided online?

For example, think you have to do that with the Nero stuff. I'm shopping for a copy of it, and this is a great deal (even without a box), I just want to be...cautious.

those folks at FW posted this the other day. I got some nice stuff for my kid.

Just be sure it works In XP if thats what you are buying it for.. much of the kid stuff does not.

You can make your xp operating software make the game think its running on a 95,98se,me,2000, and nt by using the compatibility mode :D
So the "it cant run on this nt system" error message is a thing of the past man ;)

I have a ton of 98 only games and if you dont know what I am talking about do this.

RIGHT click on game Icon OR even the set up icon on the disc when you explore it.

Select PROPERTIES

Far right thumb box says COMPATIBILITY so select it :)

Select box that says-Run this progtam in compatibility mode for: and select windows 98

THATS IT!

The error that it wont run on your system will be gone. The warning that it wont set up on your system is gone, it will now run. So dont fret about buying old software anymore this works for the most part for everything but dos :D Some dos games will run making it think its on a 95 system but for the most part sound wont be found or it will not sound right :(

Just for info, I've done this with some older games for my daughter and it usually doesn't work. Maybe we just got unlucky, but "compatibility mode" didn't help very much. I think it has to do with DirectX calls.

You're right. The compatibility mode doesn't do a whole lot w/ games, it's mostly for older apps that ran under the old OS.

I ordered PowerDVD and received it in 5 or 6 days. Highly recommended. I had balked at spending $30-$50 for DVD decoder software for my new computer for a couple of months, but for $8 you can't beat that.

hi funboy. Someone asked about game drive earlier. If it's the one I have it works great, no need for the disk to be in. Tried running the same game on multiple comps in lan using this and it doesn't work. So no cheating.

I would hope not. When I play a game a lot, the last thing I want to do is swap CDs constantly. Besides, Valve has moved away from using CDs completely. I think it's a great idea, and I don't think it's illegal considering most games now require authentic serial numbers to play. It's not like you can just hand out copies to everyone by just making a disk image. As far as the sharing VCDs over the internet, titles with a good authentication program should take care of any illegal activity.

Whoa!

Nero 6 - The OEM Suite = $5.00

Cyberlink PowerDVD 6.0 = $5.00

Nice prices.

Agree. If anyone doesn't have DVD burning software, pick up Nero 6 OEM suite for $8.

I'm using Nero 5.5 to burn DVD's. Will Nero 6.0 do a much better job? I have a 12X burner, but it always burns at 8X.
Possibly. Odds are more that you are only buying 8x dvdr blanks. You have to buy 12x blanks to burn reliably at 12x. Or its possible you need to update the dvd drive firmware, many updates for that add compatability with newer media.

Omg Cosmopolitan Virtual Makeover! I, like, so totally must have that! Oh my gawd!

Er.

Are any of those antivirus things good or should I just stick with AVG free edition?

Oo, Oddworld.

Have fun with that download if you are one of the unlucky many still on dialup. They need to cover the cost of the media/burn time somehow.

I've ordered from 5dollarsoftware.com twice now (found them about 6 months ago). I think they are a division of Softwareoutlet.com, which has a software section called "$5 Store". Most of the same titles with similar (or identical) prices. The mailing addresses are only about 4 ~ 5 blocks apart. Softwareoutlet often has killer prices, but many titles are no better than average. You have to browse their catalog and find them.

Another place that has killer software deals is Surplus CD-ROM. Like the others, their prices on some titles are no better than average, you have to browse and compare.

Expect to get the occasional ripped CD envelope, slightly crushed retail box, or cracked jewel case. As long as the media is in new condition, makes no difference to me.
Cyberlink PowerDVD 6.0 = $5.00
PowerDVD 6.0 OEM is limited to 2CH (stereo) using the OEM key code. I received some OEM versions of PowerDVD 5.0 that supported up to 5.1, but I haven't seen any of those in a while, either. The last time I purchased OEM versions of PowerDVD 5.0, they were limited to 2CH as well.

Battlefield 2 for 35 isn't bad anywho.

But I still don't know if I should buy an antivirus or stick with AVG. AVG is probably better anyways.

I might need Nero 6 OEM depending on what that NEC drive I bought comes with...
