So has forum activity picked up since the Vb migration?

After we migrated the forum to VB, there seemed to be a huge drop in activity.

From a #'s standpoint, has it picked up?

Only the Admins would know for sure, but it seems about as busy as it was during Fusetalk. Could be less, but seems the same to me.

If spam account signups are included then the answer is yes.

If they made it mandatory to use real email accounts like other forums it may curtail the touters of free ipods. This means no free emails. Other sites require this or to use a work email address, etc.

no way! I don't want my employer knowing about my activity on this site!

oh wait...😱

No free e-mails would kill the user base.

i dont know about busier, but god do i like it better. i love inline images, i love working search, and it seems more reliable

I think so. I've noticed many more low post count accounts lately. Subjectively the forums seem ever so slightly livelier than they were near the end of fusetalk's reign.

I KNOW it's dropped off quite a bit. Especially here in OT and in the CPU forum. In ATOT you would nearly have a whole new page each refresh. Now I just keep seeing the same old for the day.

I don't know...I like the search now, though.

Is it just me, or around 1-2AM eastern time, are the forums often either down or very slow?

Yeah... I've use my GMail account for everything e-mail related since 2005. I don't use the e-mail address that I get from my ISP for anything, because then I'd need to notify everyone of my new address when my ISP changed. That's a LOT of people, and you always forget at least one or two people or stores no matter how hard you try.

I'm on my 5th ISP so far, and I've changed ISP's three times since I joined the forums in 2001. It's a good thing that I updated my e-mail address, or Anandtech would be sending my password reset requests to a @mindspring.com e-mail address that I stopped using in 2003.
