Knowing what I do about Mass. they will probably start banning box cutters and scissors and sharp pencils now. And it wont reduce school assaults at all.

And then people will just find other means to carry out their desires. This is societal decay. You can ban anything you want, that isn't dealing with the problem.

And when they don't you'll look like a fucking idiot and tool which is what you are. Do you really believe that the general population of Massachusetts is that stupid to ban box cutters or is that just you being another brain dead Conservatard?

They did not ban sugary drinks in NYC or anything even remotely approaching that.

What a strange case. Very sad. It is hard to understand any possible motivation, but 14 year-olds being what they are, it's likely there is no rhyme or reason behind this killing. She sounds like a very nice young lady and I wish her family peace in this awful time.

It would be nice if you guys would stop the dumb partisan sniping, which started in the OP and has nothing whatsoever to do with this case.

Poor grade?
Perceived slight in class?

Pics of the student show him to be tall - above some of the adults.

In NY, they banned soft drinks (AKA sugery drinks) of greater than 16oz. This evenually got overturned in the courts. So I think its "remotely approaching that".

The kid obviously had some serious mental issues. No mention of parents, so I doubt parental care was good.

I am amazed they are allowed box cutters in art class. We couldn't even use exacto knives in my school days.

Box cutter may have been to open a supply box vs class room use

I'm quite aware; I live here. Restricting a cup size down to 16oz is nothing like banning something. Regardless, it really doesn't have anything to do with this.

This sounds like something that we won't ever get an answer to, at least not an answer that is in any way satisfying.

What about personal responsibility ?

Just relying on memory, aren't most crime rates declining ?

That's how you'd measure society. Getting better, not decaying.

Given your politics why not blame the person for their actions ?

btw, without facts, how do we know this wasn't self defense ? This killer could be the next George Zimmerman.

How about the fact the if the 14 year was the victim, why did he stuff her body in recycle bin and cart her out of the school building in it? If the 14 year old was the victim, why didn't he report the attack afterwards instead of going to watch a movie?

Maybe he's health conscious. Or just neat.

If it was self-defense why should he report it ? Where's that requirement in the law ?

btw, I'm not saying it WAS self-defense. I'm saying how it is some people know things like it was senseless, or he's a thug ?

Those might be true, I want to know how that's been decided.

Given the amount of blood that they said was on the restroom wall; self defense sound a lot like "well he was following me, so I had the right to try to pummel him until he was broken"

Stuff the body into the container is neatness; but not cleaning up the restroom.
Dumping the body into the woods; how is that healthy or neat?

But we understand your definition of self defense - so anything is possible.

Remember who you are arguing with. A Skittles man.

He demonstrates the belief that:
A person who looks at you cross eyed is allowed to be beaten.

One that follows you is justified in being beaten unconscious.

Jacket.

Danvers is about 20-30 miles north of Boston; it gets chilly once the son goes down.

That's tragic. Absolutely tragic. I'd wager the boy had some serious mental issues - nothing suggests it was related to parental problems and it doesn't sound like there was anything going on in the school to trigger it.

Scorned teenage love perhaps? Who knows.

BTW, those of you bringing politics and other stupidity into this situation should be really embarassed.
