So evidently you can cheat now in TF2 as long as it's called "premium account"

I dusted off TF2 over the past couple of days since the upcoming scout patch has piqued my interest, but I've been noticing weird player behaviors that I hadn't noticed a year ago when I last played. Soldiers moving as fast as scouts, a faster ROF for the flare gun, etc. So I finally clued in on just wtf was going on, and it wasn't "hacking"; if you pay a server admin he'll hook you up with server side cheats. FUCKING gay. Is there a way to flag servers like this so I can avoid them?

Hmm, I have never seen that as a paid service for donators, and in fact I have not seen much hacking at all (I saw a speedhack the other day and a guy that could shoot/kill anyone just by pointing at the ground and firing, but theywe re isolated incidents). When I do, the offenders are quickly votebanned or banned by an admin.

I would just find servers where they do not allow this and add them to your favourites:

I play here (all-talk is always enabled FYI):

http://www.bhslaughter.com/ Server listing

and here:

http://www.topnotchclan.com/forums/ Server listing

Both of those places are friendly and are fun to play on.

I have seen plenty of CS servers that offers stuff like no team flashing or you start with full money every round so don't see why they would stop there.

I'd love to play with AT folks like yourself, but being stationed in Germany has it drawbacks ping-wise.

Yeah i know what you mean, I was playing on a server awhile back that had something similar.

None of these things are really any different then the servers that advertise admin for some monthly fee.

It doesn't exactly punish them, but it does solve the problem!

Valve really needs to implement a server blacklist.

Agreed, That would be nice.

hehe, that stuff you can keep quiet...but with these kind of things, it ruins the fun!

we used to have TF2 nights...KT, we should start those back up, i'll get my server up again!

The CS: Source server I used to play on was like that. Not very often but every once in a while it was annoying. Give an entire team AWP's, give all the T's M4's, and the infamous "you've camped too long so I'm either gonna freeze your controls or slap you around the map" move.

Definitely, let's get something going for early March. Will be a good time shortly after the Scout update.

Thread title was a little misleading, I thought Valve had introduced something new for a second. 😉

The way I see it, server owners/admins are well within their rights to do whatever they want with their servers. Give paying members special abilities? Prohibit engineers? Melee only 24/7? Whatever they want, they can have seeing as how it's their server. I don't agree with giving paying members in-game advantages, so I just avoid servers that employ such systems (as well as 32-man, instant respawn, rolldice, sourcecraft, or anything else that greatly differs from vanilla settings).

Ahhh, the good ole days. I miss the days of HL2 sounds and knife fights in the giraffe room.

Oooh, I'd be there. I suck at FPS's in general, but I like playing TF2 and would love to hang out with some friendly people.

The OP has to have posted this as a joke. I have seen plenty of servers with custom rules and the admins doing crazy stuff. If you don't like it, don't play on the server, it's pretty simple and it's not hacking, it's server rules. The one server I was on had a periodic message pop up to randomly ban one of the people playing at that moment. If enough people chose yes, they were banned from using that server for a week.

Need a good TF2 Server for my Extreme gaming machine. Let us know!

I would usually quit in the first 3 minutes if the server is giving an advantage to a team/ player... CSS, TF2, DOD:S etc. There are hundreds more to choose from.

They're never as isolated as you think.

Most games have this.

BF2 had this with Special Forces. You had to buy the $20 expansion in order to get the 2 most overbalanced guns..

G36 for the medic and

FN2000 for Assault

Simply dont choose to play on custom type servers. I just choose the common VAC approved servers with no custom stuff and it plays fine for me

Yeah, by in that case you are stuck on the server with 12-15 second respawn time, 16 players and the games that last minutes without any fierce fights.
