Too bad it's gimped by 1GB of effective video memory. Might be good as a 3d vision card though.

30% more performance than a 580 (scaling permitted) and all the headaches of traditional sli for around the same price of a 580 along with less memory. I'd take a 580 given the option.

I absolutely agree. Anandtech's review wasn't very friendly toward this card and I have to agree with them. I've never used a multi-GPU system so I can't comment on micro stuttering, but I've been happy with my single GPU setups. I think I'd take the 570 or 580.

Conclusion:

"Wrapping things up, the only aspect I feel that EVGA has left underdeveloped on an otherwise very strong card is VRAM. As a result of SLI 2Win is a $520 card with 1GB of effective VRAM. We’ve already seen 1GB of VRAM pose limitations in a couple of our tests, and going forward it’s only going to get worse. Case in point: Battlefield 3, which we’re currently looking at. In a technical presentation DICE has stated that the combined memory consumption at 1920x1080 for the gbuffer, Z-buffer, and MSAA resolve data is 158MB; and this is before other buffers let alone textures. As a $200 card meant for 1920 and lower resolution, 1GB of VRAM makes sense for the GTX 560 Ti. But as a $500 dual-GPU card meant for higher performance, higher quality, and higher resolutions, 1GB of effective VRAM is the biggest bottleneck going forward for the 2Win. Realistically EVGA is in a hard place since using higher density GDDR5 would drive up the price of the card and make it even more expensive than the GTX 580, but at the end of the day I think the 2Win needs 2GB of effective VRAM to spread its wings through 2012."

I agree - while buying a 1GB card today makes sense at 1GB pricepoints, it does not make sense at $500. This card won't sell well. It would have to be under $400 to compete.

I saw 1GB effective memory and forgot all about the card. I've been down that road before with crossfired 4870 512mb's. Too much power for the memory.

Yep, just as shortsighted as the 6870x2, I mean really. a 560ti costs about $200 and this things cost over $500 so how did they not manage to add more memory?

I have to wonder if buyers of the 560ti 2 Win are aware that there's only 1GB of effective VRAM. On paper, someone might read that it's faster than the GTX 580 and with 2GB of VRAM. Some people have systems with weaker dual card setups, so it would not surprise me to see this card sell. On paper is looks very convincing, but anybody who knows better knows that this card is not worth getting.

Thats true, you can get 2 6870 2GB cards for 369$ shipped AR.

I guess if you only have one pci-e slot and game at 1080p,then this card might be for you. I guess its better than paying 700+$ for a 6990/gtx590.

the card is self defeating by only having 1gb of vram. prime example here shows it smoking the gtx580 in BF 3 when not using 4x AA but losing badly to the gtx580 when 4x AA is applied because it needs more than 1gb of vram for those setings.

Card is junk and an epic-ripoff.

Lump it in with that ridiculous EVGA card that had a GTX 260 with a G92 for physx on board.

These cards are for the hardcore EVGA fanboys.

What also kills it is the fact you cannot SLI anything with it.
that does not hurt it all. the 1gb of vram is already limiting it so what good would having 4 gpus with only 1gb of vram be?

if it had 2gb of usable vram then you might have more of a point but really most people would not screw around with quad sli at that level of card anyway.

why not get 2 560TIs for less than 500$ and get the same performance?
some people may only have one available pci-e 16x slot. getting 2 gtx560ti 2gb cards would certainly be a decent way to go if you can run it though since its only 20 bucks more than the 2win card. getting gtx560 ti sli with 1gb cards just does not make sense at this point.

this is a niche product but the 1gb of usable vram kills much of its appeal for its intended market.

If it has 2gb vram ea. i would consider it (same reason the 6870x2 was crap).

I'm stuck with 1 pcie slot. <-- mitx.
