Well, I wouldn't fault the Inq too much on that. Didn't AMD/ATI set the release date for end of 2006, but end up pushing it back a few months?

Will your guy also give a small performance preview? Not interested in exact numbers, but to say if it is about equal, better or much better then 8800gtx. Much better being more than 20%.

XT is +- equal to 8800GTX and he also confirmed price around 400USD. He doesnt have XTX so no info about that :( - only that it will likely be released in late June/early July.

Great. I'd take similar performance to the GTX and fully functional, stable Vista drivers.

We'll see.

Well I really hate that fact about XTX - by the time XT is released I should have info how much faster is XTX going to be in 1920x1200 - my native resolution - after I get that info I will have to decide whether to wait another 1-2 months or not.

Crap, I want it to leave the 8800GTX behind, not equal. :p

I advise against holding your breath for this. Many bothans have already died doing so.

HD 2900XTX - 64 SPs - 800MHz Core - 2100MHz Memory - 1GB/512MB GDDR4 memory - 512-bit memory interface ($599 & $549 for 1024MB/512MB)
HD 2900XT - 64 SPs - 600MHz Core - 1600MHz Memory - 512MB GDDR3 - 512-bit memory interface ($399)

I pulled these from wiki because I have trouble keeping up with what the latest info is on these things (my mind is a strange mess of Fudzilla, INQ, Dailytech and these forums). Anyone know if these are correct?

I guess $399 for a 8800GTX-equal card isn't bad. Even if 8800GTX drops to $399, I guess the usability of the 24xAA mode (opposed to NV's 16xAA), AF-quality, quality/stability of drivers (particularly Vista) and aggressive pricing could help AMD win back a decent number of customers.
