so, do the official ATI Linux drivers actually work?

Sure they work.


People have gotten them to work, I don't know how hard it is to install them or anything, though.
 
Work fine for me, but using multiple X sessions = hard freeze

New drivers are due out sometime this week, dont know if it will fix the multiple x session bug 🙁

I think they should fix the plain old hard freeze I'm experiencing whenever I play any 3d game (except chromium). They could also fix 640x480 on my Dell P1110 (just displays garbage).

Other than those two problems, they are ok.
