So Dell sent me a 2407WFP-HC to replace my 2407WFP Rev. A04

Personally uncalibrated the 2407WFP Rev. A04 looks better than the 2407WFP-HC Rev. A00.

I'm going to purchase a Spyder3Pro this week and get it calibrated properly.

My understanding why the big difference is panel and that the 2407WFP-HC is a wide gamut display being able to display 92% of NTSC Color Gamut vs. the 2407WFP Rev. A04 being able to only reproduce 72% of the Gamut.

I have a 2408WFP also that I've been using beside the 2407WFP Rev. A04. I haven't been using it too much because I feel it is way too purple and crap. I've farked with color profiles and colors but can't get it just right. Obviously I think I need a color calibration hardware/software to get the job done right.

I just want to be happy with my display and know that what I see is what I'll print. Right now with my 2407WFP it's been VERY good at reproducing color in print without any hardware calibration (spyder/huey/etc.)

I have 10 days to make up my mind... Help me out

There are many monitor calibration apps out there, for free.
While they aren't as intense as a Spyder or something like that, they will allow you to adjust your monitor to get good image reproduction.
