So corporate sent us dust masks

Because of the whole swine flu thing corporate sent our office masks. Too bad the surgical masks arent on the approved list and only the painters masks are. Warning number 1 on the box reads: "This product does not eliminate the risk of contracting any disease or infection".

😕

These type of mask are not to keep you safe but to keep others safe from you.
i.e. contain your spit/germs when you cough/sneeze.

Also there is the benefit of keeping you from being able to touch your nose/mouth freely, which is the most common route of infection.

My work sent out a memo that was kind enough to tell all of us to not come in if we're sick at all but to make sure we use our personal time.

What about someone like me that has zero personal time left for the year? Am I supposed to come in and infect everyone if I were to catch the pig flu?

You'd take unpaid time off.

To be fair though, that warning doesn't mean much. While it may not eliminate the risk, it may still reduce it. The warning just eliminates any liability and reflects there are no 100% guarantees.

Yeah, but you're way ahead of the game - you're all set when there's a dust flu epidemic.
