I happened to play Crash quite a bit the last few days, and it is quite an unbalanced map I think, or the spawn system is really bad. If you play on the Marines team, and your team is half decent, you can bottle up the tangos around their spawn and shoot them like fish in a barrel. I havent seen any other map so unbalanced.

I'll have to say Crossfire and Downpour (especially).

Finished the SP recently (haven't been playing it that much) and really enjoyed it. I especially liked the AC130 mission as well as the mission near the end of the game when you use the mini-gun. 😀

Agree to an extent about crossfire, but TBH, with a bit of co-ordination with a couple of teammates, you can break through. Atleast you have a large bit of space in the middle to make a run for it.😀

I really like downpour; it's one of my favourite maps. I've never been bottled up there. It's also a map where the UAV jammer rules- if you stay low, you can blend in with the scenary and wreak havoc! The other one being Overgrown.

Im starting to see a lot more bots on multiplayer. They're very obvious.

Luckily, the servers that i play on are well administered, and the players are all regulars. Troublemakers- except hoppers :frown: - are swiftly booted.

So I got it today via Steam and IMHO this is one big giant grenade spam game on very claustrophobic maps. Sorry I like BF2 whole lot more then this game. Give me BF2's no vehicle servers on huge maps any day of the week over COD4.

stick to 20 man servers MAX and pubbing is ok.

i prefer 10-16 man servers for a better experience.

scrimmin 5v5 is a great time though, but i miss bigger more tactical maps as an option.

I did try to stick with smaller servers but I can't stand it. I am a hopeless addict to BF2's huge freaking map on 64 man servers /w no vehicles. 🙁

The fixed gun on the marine part of downpour is just ridiculous. You can sit on that thing the entire game and as long as you've got a half way competent team to protect you you'll pick up hundreds of kills.

Received the game for Christmas -- played it for a few hours yesterday. What % through the single-player campaign am I if I'm on the mission where I'm chasing some Russian's son through a village?

You are 2/3 throug the game. There is 1 more act to complete. Also when you beat the game, let the credits run all the way through because there is still one more mission after the credits are finished.

is there a way to play as a squad in COD4? like BF2? At least be able to figure out where your buddies are on a map?

I just finished SP today. The AC130 was my favorite part too.

After about 11 hours into MP I must say that it truly does blow. Think about it...all you need to know are a few good spots per map, that's it...no skill, just the right spots. How that makes this a great game is beyond me.

SP has been OK. I'm looking forward to seeing how it pans out. MP gets a 4/10

I think the multiplayer is pretty fun..... when there's less than 20 people per map. But I really hate the airstrikes. It's nifty the first time you see it, and then you get killed over and over right when you spawn, not fun at all.

um, that could be said of every FPS game in existence...

Some servers are more tactical then others and employ strict rules of engagement.

I finally got this game and all I can say is.....WOW! What a great MP game. This is soooooo much better than BF2 it's not even funny.

Who else thinks COD 4 is amazingly well coded?

The load times on my machine are incredible. I can go from Windows into a multiplayer game in less than 30 seconds. It's probably 90 seconds for TF2.

Map load times are less than 10 seconds.

Amazing. It makes you wonder why TF2 and Battlefield 2 are such pigs when clearly modern games don't need to be.

I think that they really need to polish up the multiplayer interface with friends lists being one of the bigger things missing.

Yeah, coming from Steam, not having a friend's list really bugs me. Plus when looking for servers, there's no "History" option that let's you find servers you recently played on.

Is there any way to add a server to favorites while in the server? I've had to exit and then try and remember the name so I can add them. The gameplay is terrific, all they need to do now is work on the game browser.

Yep like said above friends list, favorites and last servers visited and such. Things like that should be pretty standard on every game.
