I just crawled out from my rock to find this thread. Riverside's a pretty long drive for me, so I don't know if I can make it, but the thread is huge, so I'm having trouble finding the date for this bash.

Anyone want to help me out, here? TIA. 🙂

i'm a chinese guy, and my g/f is indian (sikh, punjabi). We both went to UCLA -- she got involved w/the UCLA bhangra team 3 years ago.

I never thought they would be cool w/me because i was a Chinese guy, not Indian. But boy was I wrong, 'cause those people were really awesome and became some of my best friends. Plus it also helped that I helped them put together their Annual UC Bhangra Competition for 2 years. 🙂

And I guess having that inside track w/the Sikh community really did my outlook on most of the indian people on the UCLA campus. Now, not all of them were awesome -- just the ones that I knew. There were still a majority of the Desi population at UCLA that wouldn't give you the time of day unless you were driving a 5series or a Benz.

But yea, i can see where you're coming from...it's really unfortunate it has to be like that because it's always about the $$ 🙁

Anyway, if you are into Bhangra, come to this year's UC Bhangra Competition. I think we're having it in the Long Beach Terrace Theater..not sure about that, but i'll let you know dude. If you haven't gone before, it's so much fun to just be there -- and there's plenty of girls too...................to look at, but still. heh

We will start a pool of money from all the peopel who are here. The grocer is about 1 min from my house. So if you guys wanna bring things like napkins and cups go for it... But I think there really isn't much to worry about other than food, which we will all buy when you guys get here.

And I think it took my about ~1 1/2 hours to drive to my sisters place whenshe went to csun...
