Exactly.
I don't find that type of film appealing (nothing to do with the gay aspect, just the overall style of the film/story).
That's excuse enough not to go and see it IMO.

Brokeback was a very good movie, but not best picture quality if you ask me. It was beautifully told and filmed but other than that was simply a relationship movie. It's quite similar to many other relationship movies, except that the two who fall in love happen to be gay. Once again, a very good movie, but not best picture quality.

I've seen all of the nominees and the best picture is clearly Capote. If you haven't had a chance to see it go out and do so. Philip Seymour Hoffman is the runaway for best actor IMO.

Good movie, I'm man enough and secure in my sexuality enough to say so.

Also, Heath Ledger is a lock for best actor.

:thumbsup:

and ang lee deserves best director IMO

simply a relationship movie.

relationship movie == chick flick

so its a chick flick, no thanks

It's probably a little bit more than a chick flick, in that it does bring up controversial issues. It also has beautiful scenery in it as well. However it is merely the story of two people who fall in love. They just happen to be male cowboys.
