So begins another warm summer..

With the end of the PrimeGen app being used in the Chess960@Home project, so begins the shutdown of my fleet. Aside from the dual-core Xeon at work("Heimdall"), I expect to have all the rigs shut down by about June 3rd.

Sometime afterwards I will be having a sale to clear out a bunch that I'll not need to keep around. I'll post here to give DC'ers first crack. 😉

Ha winter is just a couple of weeks old here.. Man I don't like the cold.. buth the crunchers love it!! 😀

I already downclocked my fleet by about 800MHz (out of almost 20GHz). Should be good for the summer. I don't think a 4% downclock is too bad.

But aren't you up north? hhehehe. I have stuff baking in my garage. Speaking of which, I have a temp sensor to install now, to see how hot it gets. This is going to be interesting.

I've had to shut down two machines running DPAD. Air conditioner is broke. Both overclocked Athlon XPs running around 52c when I shut them down:Q

Yep, it's getting rather warm in the basement here also. The p42.6c overclocked to 3120 was hitting 150F so I replaced the heatsink today and now it's hitting 118F. SOB really heats these things up. May have to shut some down and start up the AC soon. 🙂

I had my 3.0 running at 3.5 stable until the heat started up.
Just clocked it down to 3.37 😉 Still respectable...

Where's that Canadian High when you need it 😛

Temps around here are hovering at 90F(& about 80-90% humidity) during the day so i've been shutting things down too & only running at night.

I know i've been saying it for a long time, but, i really need to get things set up in the garage.

🙁 Not as lucky as you other crunchers since I live in an apartment! 🙁

:sun: It's getting REALLY warm in the Living Room where my 3 machines are running. None are overclocked but i've had to peel down to my skivvies in there and still feel hot! All Intel's and none of those tiny, thrifty cores either! :sun::sun:

Could put this "farm" in the 2nd bedroom but afraid that our cat will turn out "Medium Well"!!!

:light: Thank goodness electricity is included in the maintenance!!! 😀

Are you atop the hill or down by the lake?

What's the temp difference at this time of year? 10 or more?

I've had to cut back as well, I'm actually underclocking and undervolting 3 of my systems but I may have to shut them off when not being used to keep the heat down. Hate to lose the DC credit, but we do what we gotta do. 🙁

Hehe, now I'm really glad that Germany is stuck in a cold weather front. It should be around 25 to 30 °C these days but all we have is 12 °C. Thus my farm is still heating my room and I can keep up my production.

I've now got just 2 machines still crunching - one is finishing up on the Chess project(deadline is later today), and the other is my station at work which will continue on with the Leiden project for the TeAm. All the others have been shutdown; I'll be preparing a list of equipment some time this next week.

heheh... nice OC there ole man!!! 😉😉😉

What's the stock speed on that baby, 2.6 Ghz isn't it?

2.6 up to 4.0 and for a cpu that costs around $135 😀 WTC Greg!

What.. you don't like to have you computer room at 90° with the AC. 😉

Maybe I'll make a Keg Case Mod..
