This isn't true. According to thermodynamics the entropy of the universe will always increase, resulting in a constant loss if information. When entropy is maxed out the universe will contain no information, it will just be a flat, evenly dense space.

It will exist as long as we don't destroy ourselves in some overly dramatic fashion. Like Nuclear War or Fundamentalist Religion/Movement systematically destroying technology. I must say, to think about it in a different light, it is quite strange that we now have entire civilizations living in a time where the majority of our meaningless drivel that is daily conversation, is now actually being recorded, though we are in agreement with that knowledge (whether we accept that or not).
