For all the hype about Reggie Bush, he really has not run well for the Saints so far, and I don't mean just in this game. He's always trying to do too much and running sideways instead of up the field. I think he's averaging about 3 yards/carry...
I've watched a lot of their offensive plays this season. When he's running between the tackles, he's not as patient as McAllister, he doesn't wait long enough for the holes to open up. And then when he tries to go outside and turn the corner, he starts juking and it just doesn't work. Even if the first guy misses, the rest of the defense is there to get him, NFL defenders cover too much ground. They've done a decent job of getting him involved in the passing game, although I'd like to see more screens and slants to him, anything where he can catch the ball in stride.
I will say that defenders seem overly keyed to shutting him down, almost like they're desperate not to get posterized, which has opened up things for everybody else on offense. Numerous times I've seen multiple defenders overreact to a good fake to Bush. He probably doesn't like it, but his main value to the Saints so far has been to draw attention and get other players open. But, eventually N.O. is going to have to figure out how to get him into the endzone with some regularity, or he'll start griping.
