So, are you really excited about the Olympics?

I find those commercials somewhat amusing ("she's gonna dive from a platform that's as tall as THREE Michael Jordans!" ) but also somewhat condescending. Is this really the best way to interest people in the Olympics?

The NY Times Magazine had a bunch of pix of swimmers that looked like artsy fake-soft-porn. Ewww. Well, I'm not all that interested in watching people swim, anyway.

Is there anything about the Olympics I can get interested in?

okay, so Kara Joyce went to school with jumpr who posts on the same internet forum as I do. That's good enough for me 🙂 . I'll watch that.

Never voluntarily watched the olympics, and I'm not gonna start now. Honestly I'd rather sit on AT and post

Link to Joyce's bio, no mention of the world record though

Okay, all the way at the bottom, you can see Joyce's name in the 4x50 relay...world record holding team

Did you see Alan Webb like 2 weeks ago at the US tournament thing in Sacramento, CA?

He DEMOLISHED the competition.
Wasn't able to catch it. I'll definitely be watching him in the Games though. Can't wait. Summer Olympics >>>> Winter.

The only time the Olympics are any good is when they are held in the U.S. That way we get to see the action live, not delayed 12 hours or maybe not see it at all.

And she was born in Brooklyn! I'm sold.

With the international basketball game so slanted against NBA-style bball, and all the doping scandals of late in T&F, I've lost a lot interest. Plus the TV coverage is horrible.

synchronized swimming - i can hardly wait:laugh:🙂

(j/k) - as a former track guy, alan webb looks like the real deal &
i like the weightlifting (what's shown of it) & gymnastics.
