so aparently i am straight edge

I was told today that I am straight edge aparently and I relized it before even though I have allways felt that way. However what is weird I dont fit your typical Straight Edge description of someone who listens to hardcore or punk rock nfact I dont listen to it at all and hardly listen to any rock music. I listen to undeground hip hop.

for those that dont know a straight edge person is "people who do not smoke, do drugs or consume alcohol. Some straight edgers also abstain from promiscuous sexual behavior aka one night stands."
 
Why would some one fell the need to generalize there lifestyle and put a name on it? Just leads to sterotypes. Oh and more cookies for you.
 
I don't think that makes you straight edge. That makes most bible-thumpers stright edge if that's you sole definition. "Straight Edge" is a punk rock term and I think only applies in the context of punk culture.

Because those lifestyle traits aside, most straight edgers are social outcasts and feel the need to define themselves to somehow feel they have some sense of value.

eh ya Its more of a label then anything else. Not realy a big deal to me. I dont intend on constantly runing around claiming that I'm straight edge. I find it interesting there is a label for how I felt though which I never knew of until today.
