i generally have the same sentiment as all of you and would prefer they get sent back... but is labeling them all criminals and attempting to ship millions back the right thing to do? i think the US is partly at fault for loosely enforcing their border policies and look what happens now... we try to go for the simple solution and toss them out like trash.

dont get me wrong... i'd like them all to go back... but i'm hoping for a better solution and making them all legals isn't in my favor.

Kind of funny how it isn't even legal for illegal immigrants that are IN Mexico to protest but we get illegal immigrants FROM Mexico protesting here....

It isn't only the illegal ones walking off their jobs and protesting. Here in AZ they expect anywhere from 60 to 100k people downtown in a march. The kids leaving the schools is ridiculous though. They interviewed some of the kids from the schools here in Phoenix and the kids had no clue, i mean aboslutely no clue, what they were "protesting" or marching for. It was sad and at the same time comical to hear what some of them said.

the solution isnt simple...throwing them back and tightenign the borders will only make money for the people that traffick human contraband....

it is impossible to patrol every inch of that border..it is like a sieve...we cant even stop the flow of illegal drugs

the solution is to go after the peopel that employ them..huge fines and jail sentences...no jobs..no immigration

Current illegal immigrants now protest in mass. Do they have permits? They commandeer highways and public buildings. School kids leave school, because they know that the weak-willed and impotent education systems have created an atmosphere in which the little darlings can get away with murder anyway, and yes, many of them are illegally here. Rocks and bottles were thrown in those protests. Foreign flags were waved in our streets, and in our faces, here, on US soil, as if we had been conquered. American flags are desecrated and foreign flags raised. More cowards and weaklings in the schools now ban American flags. We are partially to blame for allowing this to happen.

I think a combination of that and a fence along our souther border would be very effective. Make it difficult to get in and make it difficult to find work if you do get in.

This is so unbelievably irritating. Every time I see a mass of people 'protesting' and waving mexican flags it ticks me off. They should all be rounded up and tossed out. Period, no ifs ands or buts. Then, use the freakin' national guard if need be to guard the border and seal it completely. Then, and only then, after everything is sealed off, you can start letting in those that want to work and live here legally. Welcome them with open arms, they are willing to work, pay taxes and help the country. Commit a crime and get booted out never to return again (that's where the sealed border comes in handy).

Immigration problem, solved.

so really though, is it really worth striking?

A day without Mexicans is like a day without smog.

The same happened here in LV.

Then the school sends buses to bring the kids back afterwards (for their safety:Disgust;).
The kids get classifed as an "unexcused" absense.

Peronally, i don't mind immigrants comming here as long as they're going to work and be decent people. The ones associated with the drugs and violence and crime need to be discarded. The flag waving and "Mexican Pride" stuff also annoys me. I can respect if you have respect for your country of origin, or of your cultural heritage, but don't come here and try to exersize rights you don't have. A closed border would be nice, with fair and complete policy regarding newcommers; but somehow i don't see the US getting that together anytime soon, so long as we're worried about foreign countries. This new bill in the works would officially make me a criminal...

Illegal presence in the US is a civil, not a criminal, offense.

I guess if you consider someone (illegal alien or otherwise) who is guilty of a civil offense a "criminal", then it is the correct label.... if you don't consider someone who is guilty of a civil offense a "criminal", then it is not.

I happen to support the House bill that was approved in December. I know many feel this is to harsh and instead support the Senate judiciary bill, which I guess is better than doing nothing.

Oh, this thread has one foot in the door of P&N.
