Nah. A P2-300 w/ 256 megs of Ram running Win2k will function just fine for office apps and web browsing. In fact, that's what my wife uses to do all her school work on. Works like a champ.

Yes, the extra RAM helps a lot. I could probably live with a 300 MHz PII if it had 256 MB or more. For me, though, the lower end of usefulness would be around 400 MHz.

That being said, I consider my parents system to be minimal, & it's a 2000+ with 512 MB of DDR.
