since oil dropped to a 5yr low yesterday ($65/barrel).

my gas station now has gas for under $2.50/gal.

so if the Repubs blamed Obama all these years for high oil prices, then I guess they'll praise him for getting oil to a 5yr low. :p

cant wait for them to call that press conference...

You haven't heard? Instead of praising Obama they are saying it's the mark of a worsening economy:D

Do you think one day, righties will get tired of being lied to?

Obama has never had anything to do with oil prices. I've never blamed him for it. The free market and supply / demand / speculation, drives the prices. So don't go giving the fucker credit now....and don't blame HIM when the prices go back up.

The internal fighting among OPEC is the reason oil prices are low.
Want $5 a gal gas?
Build more pipelines and drill baby drill.
Ain't no body more greedy than our very own US oil companies.
They'd love to be the only game in town.

But they aren't and never will be " the only game in town ". Much of the OPEC in fighting is due to our pipelines and drilling, using less OPEC oil.

Obama didn't make the price go up nor down. I mean he is a retard, but he doesn't control gas prices. Yet anyway.

It's funny, the left had no problem blaming Bush but when gas went up under Obama it was all due to speculation.

My favorite part was when it was pointed out to them how low inflation was they said "BUT LOOK AT OIL!" Now that the price of oil has plunged I'm sure they will be rushing in to take that back.

Like many on the left who blamed Bush for everything including rainy days and Mondays.

That really doesn't answer the question now does it Londo? Would you like to try again but this time without the deflection? Or is that all you are capable of?

How can I insert a picture of some straw for you? While we are at it how about a picture of a projector since you are projecting again? No? Maybe some butt paste perhaps? You are like the picture version of michael1980...[insert empty vessel.jpg][/youareanidiot]

Did you really forget about all the threads blaming everything on Bush?

Let me help you two out, the thread is about oil prices, the claim was people on the left complained about bush's affect on oil prices, I asked who are these people.

Try again.

Now the fuel tax can be raised....

.

Kind of futile don't you think? Not only will the tax continue to generate less and less revenue due to electric cars but with republicans controlling congress the chances of anything going towards infrastructure, alternative fuel sources, etc, are all unlikely to happen.

That and the fact that republicans will never raise a tax like this.

Correct. Hey libs, you do realize don't you, that gas prices are still higher now than under the evil boooooosh.

It's funny, the left had no problem blaming Bush but when gas went up under Obama it was all due to speculation.

If anything (and I mean anything) is wrong, it's Obama's fault.

If Obama notes it isn't his fault (i.e. Republican's not making a decision or even offering an alternative,..), it really IS his fault and further more, irresponsible for blaming someone else (yet, it's perfectly OK to blame Obama)

If Obama fixes or tries to fix what is wrong - well, he has made things worse AND he isn't doing it right - armchair experts will site some BS randomness that doesn't even address/fix the actual problem. Prime example; investing in alternative energy sources is bad,.. because the yield in return is not as good as investing in a capital market vehicle,... which has nothing to do with investing in alternative energy! If the goal is developing alternative energy, you won't get that with investing in a 'simple index fund' - it's like they are reaching out to a book shelf, picking a random book, reading it and taking a rather stubborn (and irrelevant) stance in opposition.

Dear Diary,

OMG, yesterday politics happened! And somebody got blamed for something just because they're in the other party! Mommy I'm scared, can I sleep in your bed tonight?

no. US companies are selling the oil they get from US soil to countries abroad.
even factoring shipping that oil on tankers, they get more profit.

so no, drilling on US soil does NOT help the people living in the US

The oil is going onto the world market and depressing prices.
