So a ring tone is the most popular song in Europe?

Dude, Axel F was a song from Beverly Hills Cop, what rock have you been living under? Granted the fact that that horrible remix is the current #1 song in Europe is a little disturbing, the song is more than a ring tone.

This is the same continent that made David Hasselhoff one of its best-selling artists of all time. It takes all kinds, I guess . . .

Um, I know Axel F. Having a frog ding along to it is hardly an improvement.

Based on this and the outfits the teenagers are wearing at starbucks I can only conclude that life indeed revolves around 20 year cycles. It's like 1985 all over again.

We need to corner the market on David Hasselhoff ring tones. PM me, we'll get started on it.

Not THAT bad a remix. Very techno-sounding.

Europe goes for 'dance club' music in a MUCH bigger way than the US does. As does Oz, actually. Regularly tops the charts in both those countries, while we have a seperate chart for it since it never goes anywhere in the US Pop charts.

I don't understand ring tone songs. It typically rings for like 5 seconds before you pick it up right ? Unless it has a nice first 3 seconds, what's the point of them ? Are you guys reluctant to pick it up because it plays a good tune ? Or are you quick to answer it out of embarrassment ? How long before it gets old, or before you're indifferent or sick of it (making it unnecessary anyway) ... Just a couple things that made me go hmm...

You can still be different without it being a song...

The song is not on top in whole Europe yet, only:confused: in the UK. It's not listed on Europe's Top 100 yet.

The advertisements aired on German MTV these days are composed of 90% ringtone spots. Some companies make a sh1tload of money with kids buying this crap.

Meh my gusto rarely is the stuff in the charts.

:(

I'd like to know the history on that character. Has he been around for over a year?

I found a wallpaper with him 14 months ago titled "Little Weiner Dude." Where I found it was whever my Xbox connected to to grab modded Xbox wallpapers. Never saw him until almost a year later on internet ads.

You've got a better explanation? Didn't think so...

Yeah, pop music sucked just as much in the 50s/60s/70s/80s/90s as it does today. Of course, it becomes very fashionable to complain reminisce about the "good old days" after a certain age.

Between cRap, Hip Hop, Trance and whatever else passes for music these days, it's no wonder Limeys are listening to this! From the land of The Beatles, The Kinks, Ozzy, The Rolling Stones and The Who, come ring tone tunes! Face it, music today SUCKS!

I don't know anything special about this one but 3D rendered characters are part of many ringphone ads. This weiner dude appears in ads of the company Jamba. Other characters are the devil, chickens and so on... But I'm not the only one feeling like this :|
