So a laptop comes in today with a bullet hole in it...

You should let the manufacturer know that their laptop took a direct in in a combat zone & kept on ticking. Maybe they'll "extend" the warranty a little bit. Or, if it's not gov't property, ebay it to help offset the cost of a new one.

If it's anything like other things our tax dollars buy for the military, that's probably a 10.K computer too....

I had a roommate that was our supply Sargent when I was in the Marines. I went to supply with him once and I was SHOCKED by how much some of the CRAP there cost.

And I mean CRAP!

Some of it was just plain JUNK, and it still cost 100's of times more than the same thing would cost you out in town. :disgust:

So does it have pr0n on it?

if so... linky and/or :camera:'s.

How about a link to a Google search of the terms "grow up" and "that's just sad". Why in the h*ll would you post something like that in this thread. Can you get anymore off-topic or adolescent?

On topic - I've used Dell Latitudes and Panasonic ToughBooks in the field and Dells like this one have always won out with regard to durability and "selfless service".

LOL, that's awesome that the screen still works!

The bullet just barely missed the inverter.

Yep. Older Dells usually had the inverter on the right side of the LCD panel, but newer ones place it on bottom center. Bullet probably missed it by a few millimeters.

wow and even the screen still works that's awesome
and don't you just love that iraqi sand on everything? i am still finding tons of it in my bags after like 10 washes!

Copyright the pictures and the story behind it - approach Dell with a marketing ploy then sell to Dell.

This will inturn help in increase their warrenty (there's logic in there somewhere)

Things cost a lot back in the '30s! 😉

Couldn't resist...

That's what I was thinking too. They'd probably buy it back off of you and use it for R&D to see how it still works.

Maybe you should strike a deal with Dell, they can use that as an example of durability in an ad campaign. Of course all you want in return is a few replacements. 🙂

As requested.

On topic post: I'd be more impressed by one that had been hit by an RPG.

Woa woa woa... You are far too serious for OT. pr0n and pics are common nefs around here.

PN might be more to your liking.

Not trying to be too serious, and I don't get accused of being very often. I just get tired of seeing crap like that (ooh, is there pr0n? linky linky? PM me or I'll just DIE) on every stinking thread. Go find your own d*mn pr0n, instead of leeching off everyone else.

</tirade>

Oh yeah, her209, thanks for linking for me. Guess I could have done that on my own. Was just seeing red at the time.
