He's a new member, a freshman..I hardly know him..sad thing is he's had more experience WITH GIRLS than I have..he isn't the first gay guy I have ever met, my dad's administrative assistant is gay (and a really great guy also), but I've never met anybody my own age. He came out to us because he figured we would find out since he's the vice president of a gay organization on campus. Interesting thing is that just today, my school was voted #16 on the list of "Alternative lifestyles are not an alternative"..

Maybe they mean "GAY" as in stupid. If that were the case though, it would be around 80%.

The gay population says that 10% of the population is gay... perhaps only 2% are yet out of the closet. The rest of them are BORN GAY. Yup.

the simply act of actually USING 't.u' is far gayer than just about anything in Austin, btw.

That's like us saying 'M&A' and laughing about it. Who gives a sh!t. Why does everything A&M (and for that matter, OU) have to try to spite us? It's penis envy in it's finest state.

It's not our fault you chose to live in sh!tty, backward, hick towns such as college station or normon.

I didn't say anything about respect....once again the touchy feely insecure cry babies rear their head. I simply stated the climate at the two Universities concerning same sex partners is totally different.....that is all. A&M is more conservative and whether you like it or not there are quite a few people that do not like/condone the gay lifestyle but that does not mean they do not treat them with respect. I have and do know gay people.....I treat them no differently that I do anyone else, but that does not mean I agree with their lifestyle because I do not.

You do realize there have been numerous assaults motivated by homosexuality at and around the A&M campus over the past several years, right? I would hardly call that 'respect.'

How the heck did a freshman become VP of a club already? hasn't he only been in school for less than a month?

No, but it reflects the feeling of intolerance that eminates from college station for anyone that isn't a white protestant male.

That should give you an idea of how many gays there are at A&M....or should I say ones that are willing to admit being gay. ;)

BTW the fact that you even mention that I'm gay shows a complete lack of respect, too. That is a faulty assumption based upon the fact that if I don't hate em, I'm with em. That shows, once again, that you can't quite understand the concept of supporting a just cause, for the reason that it is a just cause.

You called me an asspoker in a gay thread after I said a pro-gay remark. You knew what you meant. BTW, you just implied that I was a woman....

....like I said....complete lack of tolerance for anyone that isn't a WASP....we've covered gays, women, are you going to bust out a KKK remark now? You're already on a roll. Please, don't stop.

A&M is not the place to be if you're gay. It's the place to be if you're a redneck texas boy, who wants to do some serious drinkin'.

A&M always rags on UT, they always have, it's ridiculous. UT is teh roxxor.

Actually I said it that way for a reason....I KNEW you would immediately think I was calling you gay but that is not the truth, you simply took the bait like I knew you would.

i think that stat includes bisexuals and stuff, so its not just hard on gay people. even if its only 5%, its still a significant amount.

from what i remember its like other things, ~8% left handed, ~8% color blind, so maybe ~8% gay. enough for a slight advantage in a hunter gatherer group, but not too much.

I think Ronstang is right. It's possible to not agree with somebody's lifestyle choice while at the same time respect them for who they are and the decisions they've made. I'm in the same boat as he is - I don't agree with the gay lifestyle, but I don't condem them for choosing to live like that. I didn't see Ronstang sh!tting on gays anywhere in this thread. All he has said is that he doesn't agree with their lifestyle.
