So heading to the Metro to go to work and get to a red light. I take off when it turns green and a car starts to pass me then swerves at me and I slow down and honk and he slows down. I then speed up to get past him and my truck is sticking out about 3feet ahead of him and then I feel a hugh slam and my truck shakes.

I pull over with my hazard lights and he takes his time getting over to the shoulder. I call 911 and report it. He starts to get upset I called the police but I am not taking a chance of him changing his story, have seen that happen before. So the cop shows up and I guess he was still admitting fault with the cop as the cop just had us swap info. I get out and see he hit my truck so hard both driver side doors have damage, the bed is scrapped and dented, my tire have a rub mark, and even my running board is now angled down. I almost fell on my ass getting out when I went to step on the running board its that much a angle now.

I was even more pissed as the guy thought I was racing his S series Audi with my 2005 Nissan Titan. A titan is a full size truck and I have LT tires on it. Let alone the Titan has throttle control so you only can control 40% of the throttle until you hit 30Mph. After that it opens up more. So when he tried that it just backed me up on why I called the police for this accident.
On top of that this is our only vehicle. We sold our CTS, Corvette, and old Mazda “ranger” recently and got this. I am getting another car for my wife from the auction but that is not till next month.

Woah dude sorry to here that. Unfortunately accidents aren't preventable so nothing much you can do right now. If you're ok and no ones hurt (I know, it's not what you want to hear in situations like that 😛) than you should simply let it pass and get your truck back when it's repaired.

Purge off the negative and tonight get some good time with the wife! heheh

My day is ok for now I guess and: IT'S MY BIRTHDAY!

Thought that important to mention hahahh!
 
Yea forgot to add, its my Birthday as well.

That and I hate people working on my cars/trucks. So that just adds to it.
 
Look at the bright side - now you (may) get to buy TWO cars at the auction!

Sorry to hear that, car accidents are a huge PITA.

Don't assume that. My last accident I only found out when I got the police report that the guy who caused the last accident I was in was telling them it was all my fault. People are fuckwits.

I have to ask though... WTF is with that throttle control? Sounds like a lot of BS on the manufacturer's part.

A friend of mine got into an accident 2 years ago. He was coming down 195 from Jersey during a rain storm and some dumb bitch decided to stop right around a corner in the left lane with no hazard lights on or anything. My friend came around the corner and slammed into her, totaling his car. Between the witnesses and the police report he was labeled "not at fault" and he got his money. Now, 2 years later, the bitch is trying to sue him for "ongoing physical pain and damage". 🙄

I drove into work and right as I went over the railroad tracks, the steering seemed sluggish. Was able to park it in the lot I normally do and checked it out this morning before I went home...tie-rod snapped on the driver side front tire. At least your car is drivable.
 
That sucks, but don't let it ruin your birthday. It sounds like it will just be body work, it could have been worse, stay positive!

The Diff is weak in Nissan Titans so they limit the throttle to 40% until you get to 30mph. That way you are not slaming it to hard on the gears in the rearend. Still did not work 100% as the 04-07's have much higher rates of diff failure then your average Chevy, GMC, or Ford.

I had a short drive to the metro from the accidnet but the truck drove like s__t. Could just be a algiment issue ot soemthign bent in the rear as he did slam into the tire/rim. So the bed would have been much worse if not for the steel wheel taking the brunt of it.

So could be bent axle or other issue. Will not know until I get off work and can get it up to 45mph to see.

Renting him a car would be admitting fault by the other guys insurance company. The other guys insurance will claim that the investigation is still ongoing. So like I said if he doesn't have the rental reimbursement he will get it next time.
 
Almost had some lady hit me yesterday. Was leaving Kroger, and I saw her coming down one of the entrances with a stop sign at the end. Given I don't have a stop sign where that entrance intersects the lane I was in, I just keep going... until I see that the black SUV did the same! We both stop, and I can see her making those "Oh, I'm so flustered" hand gestures. I just gave her the keep moving wave and go on my way.

I need to take up a night job of being a driving instructor around here, because people in Alabama sure as hell cannot drive. I figure my time will be well spent in keeping my sanity. 😛
 
a range rover sport and an M6 decided to race from a light right in front of me yesterday. the range rover was swerving all of the place and the M6 shot out a bunch of black smoke. idiots.
