So a chick approached me at work...

I'm in IT; part of my job is to make sure the PCs on the trading floor in my company are named according to where they're sitting. I finish renames for three people and the first is for a new girl (23 or 24 years old) who's only been there for 2 weeks now. I approach her and ask when she's leaving for the evening; before I can finish with "because I need to rename your PC", she interrupts with a really bitch and agitated "why? why do you want to know?". I tell her "uh, nevermind" and walk back to IT's support room on the floor. 10 minutes later she walks into the room (I'm the only one there) and says the following:

"I don't like you, I have a stead boyfriend, you make me feel very uncomfortable, stop bothering; if you keep bothering me, I'm going to tell my manager".

Now, I usually have a clever retort for everything, but I was floored. I figure this must have been quite a conceited bit*h to assume that when an IT guy comes up to her and asks when she's leaving for the day, he's automatically interested in her. I did respond with the following:

"um, I needed to rename your PC because you just moved", to which she replied "well you should be more clear about that". I also mentioned twice that I'm married, which apparently didn't register with this ditz, because she didn't respond to that statement. I was really pissed; basically this chick was accusing me of being unfaithful to my wife and in so many words accused me of stalking her. The only interraction I've had with this girl is while helping with PC issues in her general area.

So after talking with some co-workers, I told my boss the situation, and he told the dept. director. He said if she's stupid enough to mention this to her boss, he'd have a word with him. Also, after seeing her for the first time after this incident, he said "no wonder, she's trying to make herself feel better, she looks like the family shaved the dog's ass and made it walk backwards". hehe.

Anyway, that's where it stands; just thought I'd share.

- Bimbo gets an attitude when I attempt to fix her PC
- Bimbo approaches me 10 minutes later and states that she doesn't like me, she has a steady boyfriend, I'm bothering her and threatens to tell her boss if I keep bothering her
- My boss rags on bimbo
 
good you told co-workers and your boss, so incase she trys to pull something, they'll know the story too and be able to back you up. good call on that one.

I honestly hope she does; she's been there for all of 2 weeks; her credibility is nill. My co-worker has been with me whenever I've interracted with her and everyone else in her area; he'll back me up, as will my boss. I don't believe I have anything to worry about. She, on the other hand, would probably get an earful if she complained.

but he did the right thing and told his boss etc. So his rear is covered.

Though he should have made it clear to her when she first accused him of it the first time. But overall he handled it pretty well.
 
Around here there is always one rule, always be nice to the IT guy. Or it may take a few hours/days to get that PC fixed.

Nice people will get me to stay though lunch, or after work to get their stuff fixed. Everyone else can wait.

i think he wanted to know when she was leaving so he could rename her PC w/o interrupting her work
 
Wow! Time for some IT Admin revenge. The old expiration of the password and then changing her password complexity requirements to something ridiculously insane should do. "Must be a mix of upper and lower case, no shorter than 30 characters, with no two consecutive letters of the alphabet next to each other, four of the characters must be symbols, 6 numbers..." and throw in a few greek symbols just for fun!

I did! I told her her I'm married and not interested in her... she just continued on her tirade; I don't know what else I could have said.

I don't. I asked her that question so I'd know when she'd be leaving so I could do the work AFTER she's gone.

He doesn't. just has to log on with an admin account and rename the PC and re-join the domain. I personally prefer to do it when the user is away.
