Snowpocalypse 2.0...brace for it midwest

I just went out and drove around town (suburb west of Indy). Our subdivision's roads are somewhat bad, but the main roads seem fine. The roads are pretty deserted and many businesses are closed, as you can imagine. The wife and I did manage to stop for lunch while we were out.

My yard is like a skating rink. I had some snow drifts remaining before the ice storm started on Tuesday. I am a big guy, but I stood on top of the drift and my feet didn't even leave an impression. The ice is that thick.

Nothing wrong with it, it just seems an odd thing for a homeowner to do with the abundance of cheap labor available in this country.

it's about the only exercise I get :sneaky:

Some people don't mind occasional manual labour you know.

They're called teenagers. There are a couple of groups of them in my neighborhood who seem to vie for my business and I'll bid them against each other sometimes.

For reference, it is 70F here in central Virginia 😀

You suck.

Here's what I woke up to this morning. I couldn't even get out the back door.

I was hoping to see pics when I came in this thread and pics I found. Keep em coming. Growing up in Tucson I've never experienced anything like the east coast is seeing.

You suck too. I've lived in Wisconsin my whole life, but have been wanting to move to AZ the past few years. I would be happy if I never seen snow again in my life, even a picture.

well for only the 2nd time in 4 years, I'm officially snowed in.

Driveway is dug out but my road isn't passable. I'm debating on hitchhiking a ride up to the store since I forgot to stock up on smokes

never mind

Finally broke out my mancard and went for it. Snow is about 12-18" deep on my road but there were some tracks to follow from one of the 4x4 trucks that made it through. Once I got up some speed, I did ok. Only got mildly stuck at the end of the road where the plows had made a mess. Couple back and forths and I was all good.

97 Grand Am with all weather tires. Who needs a truck???

I agree

If lil rudeguy wasn't so intent on staying here, I'd be in AZ in a heartbeat.

whaa...whaa...whaa...it snowed...😛

Crazy fucking bastards...living in that shit voluntarily.

It's not WARM here, but supposed to be in the mid-60's today.

(I did have frost on the car windows last night and this morning though) brrrr!

The snow is fun when its like this. On the side roads, you can really do some stunt driving and not have to worry about hurting anything. Worst case is you get stuck, best case is you sharpen up your driving skills.

Plus on days like this, the people who are scared stay home. Its only us crazy fuckers out there driving.

I don't know about anyone else but I had FUN driving today. Seriously! No one on the road so I got to enjoy my sliding around. Only problems I had were with the 2.5' snow drift that was my driveway but nothing too bad
