The only thing that sucks about snow storms is my work... we only close if the MKE transit is closed for the day. That has never, EVER happened.

um, excuse me? the term "Snowpocalypse" can only be applied when it affects people in states that actually have people, such as the east coast. anything that happens to the midwest cannot be considered an apocalypse. please reserve such powerful rhetoric for when it matters.

Errr... from the article, "When everything is said and done, the storm may very well impact a third of the population of the United States; approximately 100 million people."

Looks like Indy will be getting hit with more ice than snow. That's always fun.

Last year when we had wintry mix/freezing rain.. I fell on my ass a couple of times while walking to college. I hope we won't see any of that this year.. looks like we will be having rain today and tomorrow. 🙂

Bah
10-16" total is forecasted, from Tues night through Wed night. That's certainly not enough for schools to close - it would take 10-16" between 2am and 6am that the plows can't keep up with to close schools.

Typical East Coaster - thinking they are the center of the universe.

They can not even get the government to handle emergencies; must shutdown at 4 inches to dry their booties.

Then please have your people explain to our CT school admins how to do it right because here they seem nowadays to close at the slightest idea of a snowflake.

I can work from home. But I still need to shovel.
The problem is there's no where to put the snow. The problem is there's no where to put the snow.
They used to dump it in the harbor or on the lakes/rivers & quarries where available.

Otherwise ball fields for local municipalities.

Apparently a new generation has lost the ability to improvise 🙁

I think he was more referring to off his driveway etc. Not the city's removal itself. They still dump snow here into Lake Michigan when there's "too much" but that doesn't mean I don't have issues with finding a spot for it on the sides of my driveway in my semi-urban house.

Forecasted 6-10" snow on top of ice/freezing rain here in tulsa.

Looks like I'm missing a couple days this week

Seriously - CT will close schools at barely a dusting. I did my senior year up here and we had so many snow days that our graduation date was pushed back by THREE WEEKS! That blew a third of my summer, lol.

Unless one does not have a yard that is larger than the area to be cleared; what is the problem on where to store it? A little more work might be needed to more over previous shoveled snow.()🙂

Go vertical and horizontal; think 3 dimensions
