snowing pretty hard here!

It's coming my way - Louisville, KY.

We panic at more than 4 inches of snow. It's the freezing rain/sleet that is a worry.

You mean in most parts of Canuckistan, last time I was in Vancouver and they got 1/4" of slush it was like they were all driving on ball bearings.

The one good part about being a kanukk in winter, is that at least you guys know how to clear your roads. Small-town Oklahoma has gotten sleet all day and except for the highways everything I've seen is near impassable because we're all like "wtf lol"

Our streets crew sucks

I understand.

A transplanted Canuck would be like, what's all the fuss aboot?

LOL

And then in a couple days you'd be like "wtf eh? its like 75F now. Wasn't it snowing yesterday?"

yeah, changes that fast :\

In Springfield, MO. A nice blanket of snow on top of the ice. 🙂

edit: Actually, not really a blanket. Just a light dusting. Need more ice please.

yup, that can cause all sorts of problems for drivers unused to driving in snow.

why can't it snow here? Tahoe is facing RECORD LOW levels this year. WTF. That one storm last year around Dec/Jan was enough for the whole season. Now we're still waiting. Ugh.

Enough damn ice here to sink the damn Titanic. One tree down in my yard....others bending to the ground. Blue arcing light around the city as transformers pop from snapping wires.

I'm wondering right now where the fuck all the snow is. A friend is up at Temple which is maybe two miles, if that, up Broad Street and she claims it's a blizzard. Meanwhile, I'm barely seeing any snow.

I would rather have a foot of snow than the ice (freezing rain) that's been happening for hours here. If this keeps up, it could be the worst ice storm here in decades.

They're expecting around a foot here by sometime tomorrow. Yay, brush off the car tomorrow morning and drive to work on lousy roads during rush hour.

I miss night shift. 🙁

Midnight - 9am was lovely. The drive in was very quiet, and by quitting time, the morning rush is mostly gone, and all the stores and businesses are open.

For the first time in my 16.5 years of working at the same place, my boss closed the plant tomorrow (I stayed home today too). Nothing but ice...well, the roads aren't really 100% ice covered but the everything else is (parking lots, cars, trees). Roads are "slushy" at this point.

I'm in NY and have a winter storm warning. I got home from work about 1.5 hours ago and just starting very light slow. Haven't looked outside since. 🙂

The excellent part is this morning my window wouldn't go back up (again). This storm was forecast a day or two ago so I knew now would be a bad time to have it stuck down a few inches. Last time (last week), it magically worked the next morning. I really hope that is the case again, and I'll learn my lesson not to keep using the damn thing until I figure out the problem. If not, I'll need to get some plastic up there tomorrow morning. Bah, waking up even earlier FTL!

Supposed to get about a foot of snow in the next 16 hours... gotta love Cleveland.
That same crap is hitting SouthWestern Ontario now and will be hitting my area in about an hour or so.

Calling for 10 - 15 cm of snow here.

The Ohio State University just canceled classes here for the Columbus campus. woohoo

Shit sucks out there.
They're expecting by time this is all over tomorrow afternoon, there to be anywhere from 5-10" of snow, and a good amount of ice, somewhere between .10 and .25".
Columbus is basically right on the border of the shit.

Basically directly South of Columbus is going to get raped by massive ice amounts, while North of Columbus will be getting all snow, in a large quantity.

I'm starting to doubt that school (University of Akron) will be open tomorrow. What sucks is I don't have classes on Wednesdays anyway so it doesn't do me any good!
