Snowboarders

After a few years without snowboarding the jones has recently gotten so bad that I have to take it up again. But I haven't been following it at all and have no idea what's still good and what's not so I need some gear recomendations, boots, binding, board, etc..

I go about 6'3" 200-210 so I'm looking for something in the 161-163 range. never was much for freestyle so that's not a concern. Let me know what you think.

i love my burton gear for the most part
pants rule w/ cargo pockets and nice closure, good pant/jacket interface
cruzer 163 wide (i think that's the length), good flex, good edges, not a board that i'd go doing huge air and freestyle with, but great for chillin down a slope and enjoying

Tech Nine bindings have lifetime warranties. Cap toe bindings (style, not brand) seems to be the up and coming binding style.

Ride, Arbor make good boards. Burtons are good, but overpriced IMHO.

neversummer/ride board, drake f60 bindings, solomon boots, north face parkas and pants, dragon/uex goggles

Personally I think Salomon makes the best gear, I have both ski and board gear that is salomon because of the good experiences I have had with them. I have been skiing for 18 years and boarding for 6 years, used a lot of different gear and salomon just gives a superior ride.

wait until 50% off sales when season is over.. burton cuxtom x board / burton cartel bindings / boots of your choice (make sure its comfy)

for clothes, make sure its warm and comfy , usually brand names like burton / 686 / etc are worth the price after the 50% off

I go semi local and buy MLY. I'm 5'11" 150lbs. Board is a 163. With your height and weight I would go 165 or more and since you're going to be riding Hood.
