Snow

I fvcking hate snow. It was probably stupid of me to even come into work today.
We're supposed to get 3-6" instead of the 1 foot they were originally calling for but it still sucks to drive in it.

anyone else go to work in the snow this morning?

I'm trying to make my decision now. We're supposed to get 4 to 6 inches and quite a bit of ice, but 75% of my office is already in. It doesn't help that my primary driver is a 300 HP RWD car.

Yeah, there is lots of it here in IA. about 4 inches right now and still coming down. The worst part is that even though I got here early, I can't park on the street due to snow emergency laws, so I am stuck in the lot 3 blocks away.

No, I didn't go to work in the snow. I went to work in the snow-covered ice.

... and I left early enough that there weren't many idiots on the roads.

they weren't too bad on the way, its getting back home that worries me.
although my company is pretty good about letting you go early if you think you need to. in fact, the plant manager and owner's wife were just talking to me about it sicne i'm one of the few people that has to travel a bit to get here.

if we get what they are calling for, i doubt i'll be leaving the house tomorrow though.

It hasn't snowed yet here, but it's supposed to start tonight with accumulations of around 1 to 1.5 feet.

EDIT: Best of all, I live on a road where the only way off is taking one of two hills and the township could care less about plowing the road (especially if the schools cancel for the day).

I've got about 6" on the ground right now, another 2"-4" are supposed to fall. 90% of my day is conference calls that I have access numbers to and the other 10% is just maintenance stuff that I can do via VPN access.

I let people know I'm telecommuting today.

I'm positive I could have made it in the office...hell I did in December when we had 14"...

But why?

i didn't make it, i tried, but the highway is too slick , the stupid plows haven't salted it and i almost crashed trying to turn around and get back home

work from home for me today! :sun:

we only have 1-2" but the wind is blowing 20 MPH and it was raining for hours right before the snow, so the pavement is iced up and they haven't salted it yet

(kids are home/school canceled also)

its been a mild winter but i have fvcking had it.
i opened a tacklebox the other day and the smell hit me like a freight train.
i yearn for spring.
for fish.
for being out on the water.

If you hate Winter so much, why don't you move out of Mass.?

You know there was like 9 feet of snow in upstate New York?

I love snow, even driving in it. I hate the other people that are in it with me.

What kind of car are you driving?

I used to love driving in the snow. Of course I'm now living in a part of the country where it never snows. 😉

I love snow, I'm just ready for spring at this point.
But I suppose one more hardcore snowfall couldnt hurt anyone 😀

Yea...noticed a couple people from Windsor and London, Ontario posting.....supposed to get 3-6 or 6-8 inches depending on which forecast you read about in and around metro detroit. Should be ok for me working in a trauma hospital ER tonight from 3pm to 3am....it'll either be quiet cuz of the snow or f***ing crazy from the snow....I'm hoping for the quiet, but expecting the crazy...

it rained all of yesterday (oh glorious rain!) and then started snowing around 6 or 7pm 🙁

its ok though, im coughing enough to get dizzy so i wouldnt have worked today anyway

i hate snow
and kansas

The roads were pretty bad when I drove in this morning. I have to drive out to the hospital for an MRI at 11, and its supposed to really start coming down around 3. I might just go home after my MRI.

friends and i had plans to get together tonight, we're hoping we don't have to call it off. snow advisory is exactly 2 hours before and 2 hours after we were planning on hanging out.

I am at work, but it wasn't that bad when I got here. I don't know how it's going to be when I leave. I heard that at night it's going to get much worse (no snow, but ice)

Snow! Whee!

Apparently classes are cancelled today, just wish I was told before I made it up to campus. So with no classes to teach today I can catch up at the office.
