Does Oregon not get a lot of snow? It seems north enough. That said, I love the snow. Not a big fan of ice, though. Tends to be a bit annoying when I'm walking (I fell on my ass this afternoon because of it).

The lower elevations (the city of Portland) rarely gets snow, even when it does snow it never sticks.

So whenever it snows more than 2" the entire city STOPS!

Western Oregon is stuck between the ocean & a mountain range, it is very moderate.

East of the mountains it's essentially desert & gets extremely cold with lots of snow.

After the last prediction of freezing rain several weeks ago...I wasn't sure what was gonna happen. It was a nice surprise to see the snow outside and building up a little. Snow days off work!!

What?? I haven't seen those since grade school.

Nik,

Are you watching KGW channel 8? Did you see the traffic near Washington Square? Dayum!

That's what I was watching until AMC started DVD_TV at 5pm. I'll be watching Born on the Forth of July for the next four hours.

we sure do. and I wish it would stop! salt SUCKS

Heh. Salt DOES suck. And so do idiot city leadership that refuses to use a less-corrosive alternative.

What alternatives? Salt is so cheap and effective. Not sure what else could possibly compete with it.

Come to Michigan and take it all back with you. Please.

I'd love to. I would if I could.

Sand doesn't rust away every car on the road.

It also corrodes, and eats out your car too.

Count me in for another snow lover. 🙂 The sledding, snowball fights. Use to make ice skating rinks in my backyard when I was a kid. Good times indeed. Ahh making doughnuts in an empty parking lot.

But, after late Jan, early Feb, it can leave, I've had enough.
